I love this pic. It’s like he is trying not to be the tallest one in the room yet again. The crinkles, eyebrows and hands tucked into the pockets.
This is the first look I got at Martin’s footwear. He does walk to the beat of a different drummer fashion-wise, but it somehow works. And Sir Peter . . . what a love.
A happy-looking group.
yeah, there’s something about that bent over posture that makes it look like he’s zooming in to see us.
Gorgeous Richard, elder statesman Sir Ian, lovely Fran, quirky Martin, huggable PJ, and hip Andy…what a mix it is, but they all “fit” so beautifully together. I love it!
I think the lady on the pic is not Fran, it’s Philippa Boyens.
Yes, you’re right, no idea why I wrote Fran, I knew it was Philippa. *sigh* another of my brain freezes.
I understand.. my brain freezes too- all too often these days!
yeah, they look like a sitcom cast
I hadn’t seen this yet. Love that face he’s making and I can totally relate to shrinking down so as not to be the tallest in the picture.
he probably does a lot of it
Giggles! This is a great picture of the Comic-Con Hobbit 6! RA is full of mirth in this portrait. And I love a man who can make me laugh. Cheers! ;->
love the designation “Comic-Con Hobbit 6″!
I love this group. They are full of character and quirk. Sir Ian’s pink, Martin’s open toe sandles, Sir Peter’s goofyness and RA’s whimsical expression makes me want to invite them over for dinner. I would ask RA to spend the night. Oh dear me, there I go fangurling again.
For me, I see actors/artists in this photo, not simply hollywood celebrities primmed to perfection. I would love to hang out with this group.
They certainly come across as individual and authentic, not to mention loveable. Not your standard polished Hollywood celebrities. I love what Andy Serkis(?) said in one interview, that they have all been living in a lovely bubble for last year and a half.
I hope it wasn’t burst, too much, at Comic-Con.
They all seemed to be having a pretty good time. And the interview questions weren’t inane either.
I was really happy with the questions asked. They required answers which gave us a little more insight into the production. Like the fact that forced perspective can’t be used for 3D format, so they had to look for alternative means. I’m no film geek, but I’m fascinated by that kind of info.
yes. better productions draw better interviewers who have a better idea of what information the audience would like to learn.
I’m afraid the standard of the questions might slip once they get to the “talkshow”/”morning show” stage…
But there is hope for print interviews better than the cheap TV-mags and women’s mags that featured most of the publicity for Spooks and RH.
Luckily for movies like The Hobbit, more movie mags and programmes will do the interviews. Think of Empire Magazine or Total Film, where the reporters usually are equally geeky and informed as some of the diehard fans. And in some cases, they are the same.
Dear gracie, you say what was in my thoughts so much better than I did!
Jane…”not your standard polished Hollywood celebrities” Thank heavens! I am so grateful they are not.
And let’s hope they never will be!
Amen.
I read an interesting article some time ago about Freeman and his nattiness. Given the weather I think they *all* should have been wearing sandals.
It can’t have been that hot because they were all wearing summer jacket type of things and Richard a T-shirt under his shirt.
I’m sure the convention center was comfortable to cool. The outside weather was probably quite warm.
My feet are always cold even in very hot weather so I shivered just from looking at Martin’s open-toe sandals…He probably has very warm feet!
I love this picture, I think it shows what a fun set it must have been to work on. This is probably my favourite picture from Comic-con
they do look like they’re enjoying themselves
