I heard the news today, oh boy

I'm saddened and shocked at the news I woke up too. I'm sure some story will come out about how the shooter had a mental illness or some other rationalization for his behavior. Isn't that always the case? But it won't be much comfort to the family and friends of those who lost their lives, simply because they went to see…
I can't help thinking -- they were fans, like us. Just people who badly wanted to be the first to see a film.

Your thought about them being fans also was heavy in my mind. Heck, we were even talking about if anyone was going to see this particular movie in chat a couple of days ago. It is just so sad and senseless.
We ask why, why, why. This is a short time following the Toronto Eaton’s Centre mass shooting. It happens in all countries, including those not in a state of deadly civil strife. Haven’t caught all details, but it appears that some cities (was it Paris?) are postpoing their premieres.
Heart-breaking for those families in Colorado. (That is a mild description of families’ pain) Children!!
My thoughts and prayers are with the victims of the tragic Colorado shooting, and their friends, families, and caregivers.
I was truly saddened this morning when I read what happened in Colorado. A completely senseless act.
So sad!
Such terrible news!….again….what’s going on with people these days?:(
What truly depresses me is that we will have the same discussion afterwards and as always in the past nothing will change.
You said it, sister.
One of the first things I thought when I heard this was that this guy was in his early 20s, and that’s often when schizophrenia shows up, if it’s going to show up. It’s absolutely devastating, however, that if this is a case of schizophrenia, that it manifested itself in this way, so he did this horrendous act. I still can’t comprehend it.
some things are impossible to understand.
