Chop, you look how I feel

Maybe if you are Richard Armitage, jet lag is good for shooting a rundown character. Photo via the production’s Twitter, via multiple sources on Tumblr.

  1. LOL! He looks like I feel too sometimes 🙂 And yet he still makes it look good, which I’m not quite able to pull off…

  3. Poor soul, he looks really really tired and lonely like Lenn said…I hope someone gives him a big hug – at least that was my first thought when I saw the pic

  4. I think he looks contemplative and tired. Perhaps he is missing sunny California. People look very bundled up in this shot. I volunteer to give him a hug, keep him warm and banish his loneliness. It’s a dirty job but someone has to do it.

  5. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Yes, Kathy but then he will look too good for his character and that just won’t do. Kind of you to offer though. Wonder how much actual down time he got between the flight to San Diego and then flying back and starting the film again. Not much I’d say.

    • Well, the flight time from LA to London is approx. 11 hours, so if he left in the early evening he could have a pretty good sleep on the plane and the jet lag wouldn’t be horrible. Time change doesn’t help, but he was in So. Cal. so briefly, he probably didn’t bother to adjust his biological clock at all. Piece of cake, really. Poor lad didn’t have to scrunch himself into economy class so he might have slept fairly well. Or not. Maybe he is just “acting” tired and isolated and my kind offer of comfort is unnecessary. :>)

  7. thumbs up – pale and unhealthy-looking, stubble and unkempt hair, out-of-fashion “Arschbetrüger” (coat) – just the way a 1990s run-down, social type druggie would look. It looks as if they are getting the appearance of the character right.

Also, überrasche mich weiter 🙂

    • Arschbetrüger – not known here down south either. But in an earlier shot I noticed that the coat is not very favorable on his frame – he looked kind of bumpy and bent.

  9. I see Armitage in thoughts, focused in his character, staying in character, about ready to shoot. He is going through the situation/the feeling/the conversation he will have, something unpleasant, nothing easy for Chop.

Arschbetrüger … was man nicht alles lernt. 🙂

  10. Either he is really tired or it’s just how Chop is supposed to look. Both ways, I feel like giving him a hug

  12. I was thinking, “tired / weary” when I saw it (and I was tired, hence the feeling of sympathy …)

    • This I can understand. This is a picture of an actor at work, playing a character who is worn out and weary. I can sympathize with both of you.

      • It’s interesting, I actually said that to a student yesterday afternoon who asked if I was teaching this summer — that I was tired of playing this character and was looking for another. She seemed a little shocked. Perhaps my performance is better than I realize.

  13. Grief is a devastating emotion – My guess that’s why you’re tired, Servetus.
I hope you have time to contemplate. Meditate even if that’s your thing. It helps me a lot. I wish you could say something clever to make you feel better.
Let’s just look at RA. He must be tired as a result of his commitments, although he’s probably flying first class, lying down and all.
