“Ze first of menny,” we hope: some Captain America stuff

First, a really comprehensive press review of the U.S. and UK press provided by Annette at Richard Armitage Online. I kept meaning to point people to this earlier; now it’s a few paragraphs down on the home page. I really appreciated the convenience of all of this material in one place.

Second, an update on the gross box office for Captain America can be found here. It’s doing really well, with foreign gross now almost equal to domestic gross. Definitely not a dog.

Third, I now have all the Captain America trading cards that have a picture of Mr. Armitage or his name on them. I have a post simmering on this topic and how weird I feel about owning these things, but need to wait until I can get access to a color scanner.

  1. Yeah, I am really, really pleased with how well the movie has done–solid reviews and box office. I pre-ordered my DVD the other day from Amazon. My husband gave me that “I think you are a bit barmy, dear” look but I just said, “Hey, his part in this was better than what was dished out in SB 2!”

Yes, he died in CA, too but we got that glorious close-up on the big screen, NTM the snazzy threads.

Looking forward to your post on the trading cards. 😀

  2. I didn’t know there were trading cards, I need to look into this. I’m excited that the movie is doing well and am really optimistic that with that success and with The Hobbit that his career will take him where he wants to go.

    • There’s a costume card (w/a piece of his costume embedded in it), the cast card has his name on it, and there are four other cards in the series that involve him.
