Legenda 9: Stuff worth reading, Hobbit trailer response and Christmas edition

I’m including another cap from the jib-jab vid just because it always makes me grin, every time I see it, and who doesn’t need some grins at this time of year? Richard Armitage / Thorin Oakenshield pictured as Christmas elf.

[A brief, non-inclusive index of stuff I enjoyed since the last episode. It doesn’t usually include materials presented on the major fansites, which I love dearly, but which are linked in the sidebar. Because I always forget or just miss stuff, please add additional pieces of interest via link in the comments.]

And, regarding the The Hobbit trailer, here’s the result of my poll question about how often you watched it in the first 36 hours after release. the plurality was pretty sensible and has only watching it ten times or so, but it was interesting to me that almost everyone who said they had seen it more than forty times answered the poll within the first three hours it was posted. Does that mean my readers are especially rabid fans?

  1. Thanks, sweetie! So funny! *laughing a lot*

  2. A great service! I haven’t seen some of these recent posts. Thanks for mentioning my Christmas fanvid. 🙂

  3. I haven’t seen many of these posts either. Thanks so much for the shout-outs.

  4. Hi Servet,
    Thank you for your generosity!

  5. Ha! Hope I don’t get a defamation suit from RA!

Thank you Servetus – much appreciated 🙂 🙂

    • Richard doesn’t say he can’t sing…….if you listen carefully, he says “I DON’T sing”!!!!!

      So…he didn’t lie.

      • Actually, if you listen carefully, he says, “I don’t sing … I can’t.” It’s not clear if he’s starting a second sentence with the second clause, as he gets cut off by the interview. But the joke is still valid, since he *does* sing in the Trailer. I thought the video was hilarious and I stand by my judgment that he was lying (probably out of modesty, as he said in one interview that he’s a “fair singer”).

        • Richard has also referred to his “small” or “limited” talent, as I recall, which I think most of us would tend to argue with.
So blessed in so many ways and a very modest fellow indeed.

  6. Soo cool with an update – lots of stuff I haven´t seen (discovered). Pleased that you liked my new banner 🙂 Thanks for mentioning it. Happy New Year to you.

  7. Thanks for keeping us updated, Serv. Being away for several days and not having easy access to my email really put me behind.

It wouldn’t have seemed like Christmas without an SF installment. And I still have to fill everyone in one what the lads received for Christmas . . . 😉

  8. O thank you Servetus!
I haven’t seen any of this posts;) What! Stop! Stop! my nose! my nose!
    I wanna bigger (J.Lo) bum,not nose! Sh.t!!!

  9. Did Lucas 9 happen? Must have blinked 😀
Angie – fill us in! Did Guy get a horse? Or – well, someone beginning with “M”?

    • Fitzg,

I still have to figure out what each of the ChaRActers received. . . I gave Guy his magic jeweled sword last year , , , Oh, wouldn’t he enjoy his own “Richie.?”
Actually, I would enjoy watching him riding said horse . . . galloping down the road kicking up dust, his hair flying in the wind, or cantering around the house (the yard is quite large). Recalling now the hip action of Sir Guy as he exited Nottingham Castle when it was about to be attacked and made his little speech about his life turning to ash without Marian . . . oh, my.

Such thoughts make a girl with a busted tailbone feel ever so much better. 😉

  10. Thanks for all for your comments.

  11. I’d like to add my thanks to those here, as I simply don’t have the time to go searching for the good stuff out there!
