Legenda 13: Stuff worth reading
Time for Monday classic FanstRAvaganza!
This week, it’s “You know you’re a Richard Armitage fan when …”, a post from FanstRAvaganza 3 anchor blogger Traxy at The Squeee that preceded F1, but that encapsulated so many experiences I was having when I read it. Some of the points might seem a bit dated as the furor over Robin Hood has faded for many of us; on the other hand, I know she’s still accepting comments.
You’ve probably seen banners go up all over Armitageworld as various bloggers join the event. If you’d like to join but haven’t gotten an invitation, please let me know. And for regular updates on FanstRAvaganza 3, “like” our facebook page or follow @FanstRAvaganza on twitter!
At right, some FanstRAvaganza history: a snippet view of a message the participants in the first event got from Nat. I had been Armitage blogging for a total of three weeks at this point. Just in case anyone’s inclined to complain about the event name (which I admit is my fault), these were the alternatives on the table just a couple of days before the event!

[Legenda offers a brief, non-inclusive index of stuff I noticed and enjoyed since the last episode. It doesn’t usually include materials presented on the major fansites, which I love dearly, but which are linked in the sidebar. Because I always forget or just miss stuff, please add additional pieces of interest via link in the comments.]
- Didion offers us a list of her favorite period drama. Of course, North & South is there, along with some other familiar material, but also quite a bit of stuff that I hadn’t seen and want to, like The Forsyte Saga, or things I didn’t think of as period drama per se.
- Frequent commentator Bibiana recommends this film about aspiring musicians that she says “shows a side of Brazil that people don’t imagine”: streams free till the end of the month.
- HedgeyPig of RichardArmitageNet.com fame posts a memoir of childhood illnesses and treatments. Shows us rather than telling; an evocative read.
- DarkJackal made a “Misty Mountains” music video.
- Frenz updates what’s for me the most interesting part of her blog — her diary entries!
- KathrynD has finally (!) added the epilogue to her Lucas North AU fic, “The Terrors of Loneliness.” Highly recommended.
- Judiang ponders some of the fallout from the Jane interview; I was grateful to her for taking this up.
- White Rose Writings ponders her Chinese zodiac compatibility with Richard Armitage. [Giggles.]
Oh my goodness…thank you so much for mentioning my story! I am very flattered! 🙂

will confess that I loved The Forsyte Saga so much when I read it for comps that I am a bit afraid to watch the serialization.

HAHAHA… I forgot about those other possible fanstrav names. 🙂 I’m glad your idea, although long and a bit cheesy (you know I like the cheese), was the fave. It’s tradition now!

I went back looking just to find out what possessed me to say that, and I also ended up thinking it seems better when you consider the alternatives 🙂

Thank Nat, she’s the one I got it from. (She also refers to you as “Servetus the Great” in the same post. Get it while it’s hot! ;))
