Announcement: Prue Batten e-book give away!

Prue Batten , a fellow Armitage admirer and fantasy / fiction author who blogs at Mesmered’s Blog, has recently completed a new historical fiction novel entitled Gisborne: Book of Pawns, and it was just published! Congratulations, Prue.

In honor of publication, I’m about to publish a three-part interview with Prue, and Prue is giving away a free e-book to one lucky reader of this blog!

All you have to do is leave a comment on one of the three posts that make up the interview, and you will be entered to win. If you don’t wish to enter the contest, please simply indicate that in your first comment, and I won’t include you.

And if you just can’t wait: you can get it for the unbelievable price of $2.99 at

I’ve read it — as you will see this week — and it’s definitely worth that much and more.

Fine print (I’ve never done a giveaway before, so I mostly copied this from Frenz):

  • You may enter once by leaving a comment on each part of the interview (part 1 will appear later tonight; parts 2 and 3 will run on Tuesday and Wednesday) for a total of three entries. Leaving a comment on a segment of the interview with Prue is the only way to enter.
  • Entries will be closed on Friday, March 2, noon, London time, and I will write all the entries on slips of paper and ask my TA to draw a winner from a hat filled with the entries. The winner will be announced by commentator nickname on this blog midnight, London time, on March 3rd. The giveaway is open to anyone who is a legally valid entrant (whatever that means; it sounds kind of tautological to me, but ask Frenz).
  • The giveaway is for an ebook of Gisborne: Game of Pawns — there are no prize substitutions of any kind; you must have a valid email address to win and share it with me in one of your entries. Your email address or identity or alias will not be used for any other purpose than the giveaway. It may be shared with Prue Batten so she can tell how to collect it. I will ask you to confirm that you want it before taking this any further.
  • Once someone has accepted the prize, even if the winner doesn’t download the ebook, the prize disappears.
  • Downloading the book is your job if you win. I barely understand how to turn on my own computer. I accept no responsibility for any problem created by the Internet or download walls or censorship in the country of your IP address, or any technical stuff that might prevent you from collecting your prize.
  • You must comply with the rules to win. No responsibility assumed by me for frauds of any kind committed by entrants.
  • My decisions about the contest are final.
  • If you enter the drawing you will be assumed to have consented to these rules.

OK, interview follows in a little while! Comments closed here so you can leave one on the interview. Thanks.
