It’s a lovely picture. *sigh* ♥ I wonder how the feel of the sweater and the beard contrast? 😉

I bet there are even more things Servetus likes in this pic 🙂 I think I would run out of arrows and space to express it!
I like to imagine the jumper smells of a really nice fabric softer. Of course, this was a new jumper worn for the photo shoot, so it probably smells of the plastic bag it came from all the way from China 😉

Hi Serv,
I would nuzzle slowly, savoring every moment–neck, ear lobe, temple, corner of eye, cheek, nose, lips, etc.
Dang! 5 hours till my hubby gets home. Ha!

I also love this picture…the jumper looks like the type worn by old fishermen…although to be one of them he might need a considerably bigger beard! 😉

Seeing good looking men (especially tall ones) in cosy jumpers like this makes me want to put my arms up inside and get snuggly and warm! The fact that it is Richard with the lovely beard and rubbable (is that a word?!) hair is just the thing of dreams. *sigh*. 😀 x

Do you think the beard tickles?
That sweater may be a little too warm for a day like today. I would be okay with him taking it off. You know, so he could feel more comfortable of course.

**warning** dissenting opinion incoming
Hmmm…. I don’t think I’m really sold on the jumper. Do you think it’s wool? Because I haven’t had the opportunity to deal with many wool jumpers that weren’t also a bit scratchy (unless it’s some sort of synthetic blend).
Usually, one gets around this by layering… but as he doesn’t appear to have anything on between his skin and the jumper in the picture above, all I can think is … wow, I hope that jumper isn’t irritating his skin… but then, I also have sensitive, allergic skin. In the US, I use Dreft and in the UK, I buy whatever non-bio detergent has pictures of babies on it. 🙂
The beard … *meh* … he still looks like Tsar Nicholas II / George V to me. 😉

I agree with you re: not liking the sweater. I would agree, the lack of layering strikes me as odd, however it may have to do with my first main reason for not liking the sweater.
My reasons for not liking the sweater: A big clunky sweater like this would look good on a thin man, on a muscular man such as himself, he looks too big. Also, the textural issues with the fuzzy sweater, the fuzzy hair, the beard and the stubble don’t do anything for me. It appears that he is almost wearing a sweater made of his own hair. LOL.

“It appears that he is almost wearing a sweater made of his own hair”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
*wiping tears from my eyes*
I hadn’t thought of the body shape vs. chunky article of clothing balance earlier or the lack of texturing between hair, beard, jumper. But I think I have to agree with you. Later in the photoshoot is this photo:

Also, no layering underneath – but a much thinner streamlined sweater – I’m going to imagine it’s cashmere because cashmere would feel so nice and soft against one’s skin. 🙂

Yes, I like that picture much better!!!! Cashmere would be very nice for his skin and this sweater clings to him in a very appealing manner. I think he also appears to have a sexier look in his eye, probably from the fit and the feel. 🙂

Love this b/w pic and him with fuzzy haircut in this sweater. Long-bodied, handsome guys can look indescribably gorgeous in the like of it. Used to be a passionate and skilled almost-every-day-knitter for decades (though I hardly ever knitted for my boyfriends! 😉 ) I stopped knitting that very day
(one and a half years ago until today..) when I had my mind-altering “meeting” with the above-said good-looking lad from Leicester. This is why the HUGE piles of wool in my flat remain untouched now for so long as I have to sit here being puzzled and looking at pics of RA in woolen sweaters and pics with RA in no woolen sweaters (you know!!)..Gosh. Besides, pondering as well over the fabulous question of Bccmee about the possibly contrasting feel of the sweater and the beard!! LOL.

One simple answer is, time is limited and you can’t knit and read (at least none of the more complicated multicoloured patterns) at the same time. Let alone sitting in front of the laptop and typing comments, all this in English, which is still a formidable challenge. I had and still have to catch up with soooo many things. However some of my knitting friends are already getting a wee bit frustrated with me….Beyond you can’t do anything when you are madly and unexpectedly falling in love with a real/unreal guy called Richard. 😉

Not a big fan of the sweater myself either, although it does look nice and cuddly. As much as I enjoy seeing RA’s gorgeous neck and throat, there needs to be an open collar to set the neckline off. Otherwise…yum!

I see what you mean, but it’s more to do with the jumper I think. I really like the fine knit one in Expat’s link, the bare neckline suits the style more so than the chunky rib knit.

The only time I knitted was when expecting, because it was expected. Stitches were dropped, tied with a knot, there were holes. The sweater was finished, sized for a two-yr-old. And I made him wear it. Was that child abuse? Nice colour, though…(Honestly, others knitted lovely soft sweaters for him – he didn’t look like a neglected child!Really! This is your cue to say, we believe you, fitz, even if others might not…)

Finally caught Tintin on my LAX to LHR flight yesterday. You’re right about that sweater! All that’s needed is a turtleneck collar, and it would be a dead ringer for Capt Haddock’s (the younger). 🙂
To me, Capt Haddock and Saccharin (with his glasses) rather resemble Peter Jackson & Steven Spielberg. Was this subliminal humor intended by the producers / director, I suppose?
