Spend our money!

Have you always wanted to donate to one of Richard Armitage’s fundraising efforts at JustGiving, but missed out?

Concerned about the logistics of using a foreign website — worried about possible credit card fees or tax issues — convinced that charity begins at home — just never got around to it — or — a common problem: no extra money?

We at the King Richard Armitage fan initiative have a solution to these difficulties — we’ll take care of the money, the logistics, and everything else, while you can still focus on supporting your favorite local charities.

You can spend our money to support Richard Armitage’s charitable impulses!

Read more about it below!

King Richard Armitage week begins today and runs through August 28th. See the welcome post, with a description of what’s to come, at Something About Love! Includes poem by Melissa the Mouse.

and CDoart has a cake for Richard Armitage as well as some information about previous attempts to locate the currently unknown resting place of Richard III’s mortal remains. As you may know, a new attempt has recently been funded, in part by fans of Richard Armitage. Additionally, CDoart offers details about how you can support a current effort to bring attention to the Richard III story on television — to take place this Friday and Saturday.

As you can see from Grati’s post, a small group of us have banded together to celebrate 2012’s King Richard Armitage Week in honor of the King Richard Armitage fan initiative. The goal of the initiative is to draw attention and express public support for Richard Armitage’s ongoing interest, expressed over the last five years, of pursuing some sort of project regarding the complexities of the life and reign of English king Richard III (d. 1485), either as actor, director, or producer. A petition — please sign if you haven’t! — collects the names of people who’d love to see Armitage’s project realized.

But what about the part where fans spend our money?????

We’ve come up with a quiz with nineteen questions about Richard Armitage, Richard III, and the prospective Richard III project.

Access the whole quiz here.

In the quiz, letters from the individual clues go to fill in the letters of a solution phrase that answers the question: What is Richard Armitage trying to do in his ideal project?

For each day of KRA week, quiz questions will appear. (They’re available through the whole week — they just appear on separate days.) You can answer the separate questions, and the solution phrase, all the way up until September 3rd. If you’re confused about how this works, you can download a solution form for scribbling on, at the bottom of the page linked above, as a .pdf.

For every quiz question you answer correctly, you get an entry in a drawing to determine which of Richard Armitage’s JustGiving charities gets a donation of £91 (GBP) from the fan initiative!

The money will be donated in your name (or if you prefer, fan alias or designation as “anonymous”) as the winner of the KRA Week 2012 puzzle challenge.

In order to answer questions, you must register your email so we can contact if you win. It will be discarded after the contest is over and not used for any other purpose. Further terms and conditions of this puzzle – charity offer are available here as well.

And you can play even if you didn’t sign the petition or don’t want Richard Armitage to play Richard III — this is solely a charity effort.

But what if I don’t want to spend your money on Richard Armitage’s designated charities?

Hmm. That’s a tough one. But there’s an answer!

A second lucky winner will receive a free conference entry to the upcoming conference of the Richard III Foundation at Market Bosworth on October 13, 2012. Details of this interesting conference are here. To make sure the prize goes to someone who’s truly interested, participants are asked to indicate with their entry if they are able and interested in attending.

And if you don’t want to spend our money or go to the conference, we have yet another incentive —

a special piece of Richard III bling with the medieval king’s heraldic arms that proclaims your champion status for 2012. A one of a kind item —

and one you’ll definitely want to have on your desk.

So are you ready?

Here’s the whole explanation of the quiz and its rules.

Here are the first day’s questions.

(I personally think two of them will be really easy for Armitage fans, but the third one is harder. A *very* broad hint — if you don’t know the answer, you might consider looking for it in places where Richard Armitage’s fans have discussed which actresses would suit him best as screen partners.)

More clues will appear tomorrow — and King Richard Armitage Week 2012 fun will also continue at Phylly’s Faves.
