Armitage’s (cough) gets me through election day

Just a few more hours — I hope — till the 2012 U.S. election is done. Though I feel a certain amount of fear based on things I read today, I really hope this one doesn’t end up in the courts. I managed to keep politics almost entirely off this blog for the entire campaign, which was not easy for me. If you knew me in real life, you would know about my politics addiction.

Anyway, this is the picture I’ve been looking at all day today to calm my fears. I might have also watched several kisses a few dozen times. But there is just something calming about this picture. Sort of like they give hyperactive kids Ritalin, which is actually a stimulant, to calm them down. This is just so beautiful.

If you need a bigger dosage of Armitage’s (cough), click to enlarge.

I still don’t really want to talk about the election specifically. I’ll probably edit or delete comments on that topic.

However: If you feel the need to make a political argument, click the photo to enlarge and then feel the euphoria wash over you.

I’d much rather talk about the beauty of the photo and the subject pictured and how looking at it just makes everything so much more tolerable better.

  6. Even our news is full of your election, but that picture fortunately makes everything else unimportant ;o)
    Thank you, Servetus!
What beautiful and slim arms! What I could not figure out in this picture, is there a microphone equipment or something else at the back of his shirt? Light falls quite in a strange way onto that lower part of his shirt.
You see, I tried not to look too closely at your mentioned (cough) part. I am much too shy for that to even do that with a picture ;o)

  7. I have a sudden, nigh irresistible impulse to play with those zipper pulls . . . LOVE that stance. Uber-masculine. Mmmmmmmmm.

OK, the fact I am miffed I don’t have my Hobbit books yet due to my husband’s boss’s daughter not bothering to pick up the frackin’ mail today at the dealership (never know if Amazon is going to send stuff by mail or UPS anymore and I attempt to save them a trip out here, but—) is mollified by this sight.

The jeans on that bod, the rolled up sleeves baring the always delectable forearms, the watch (LOVE it he wears a watch), the hand, the breadth of the shoulders, the tempting glimpse of the back of his neck, the hair tufting up on top and inviting you to ruffle it some more, that ever so nibbleworthy elfin ear . . .

Ah, Mr. Armitage. Do you know what the sight of you–coming OR going–can do for a girl?

  8. Glad I voted before gazing at this … *thud*

The stance, aside from evoking the obvious reactions lol, reminds me quite a lot of some of the moves he does in the Cats videos. Not that I’ve watched them much. No, not me. Really. *cough*

  9. You can keep your (insert political platform here)…if I can’t ogle Armitage, I’m out of here! (not sure about the husband and kids 🙂 )

    • One reason to petition for political asylum. The right to ogle Armitage is an undeniable, inalienable human right.

  11. Oh Servetus you can’t imagine how much this gorgeous view brightened up my gloomy morning. As someone said on twitter Mr. A is a ‘living poetry of a man’..very true. *Sigh*

  12. Hello Servetus, I tried to comment from my smartphone but mistyped my email address. 🙂 RA is glorious to behold from any angle, as someone said on Twitter he’s a “living poetry of a man”! Can’t thank you enough for brightening the early morning gloom! The trip to our site office never seemed shorter! If only I could master using that tiny QWERTY keyboard!

  13. I don’t know, but I think what gets me about this pic is that this big, strong man with the magnificent physique is looking down.

    • One the one hand, he’d almost have to be to talk to anyone standing around him, but I do remember being struck by how tired he looked at Comic Con – no small wonder given where he’d been and what he’d been doing I suppose.

    • Interesting note, Jane. I agree with you. The pose also seems to suggest some sort of reconciliation between strength and strength held back.

  14. Day after election-I no longer “need” to study this picture, but yet I remain transfixed. This must means I NEED to check out our man. BTW, is that the outline of a cellphone? No worries, darling, I’ll handle that call for you….

  15. Now that I’ve gotten over my initial OMG at this image (well mostly) it put me in mind of that line from Keats, “A thing of beauty is a joy forever…” it works for the pieces parts but for the whole as well- inside and out! Thank you Richard Armitage for having a glorious (cough) and thanks for just being you!

  16. OMC, I am so hopelessly behind everything, if you pardon the buns, eh, pun. Jeepers, what the man is doing to us… I definitely was not prepared for the enlarged version. Not complaining…
Oh, and congrats on the election. Had to go to bed at 1 am because I couldn’t stick the suspense any longer…

  18. When a while ago, I saw this picture for the first time, it really knocked me off my feet. Never had a picture of somebody’s backview ever had effected me so heavily that it literally set my whole body astir. For me this shot is so extremely powerful and sexy and my instantaneously intense reactions and my longings haven’t waned a bit yet. Blimey! Look at that posture! Thanks Serv for blowing my mind today!!! …or just like you’ve said: drives every other thought out of my little mind 😉 Oh, and before I forget… what was it with prospects and opening a very sweet package??? *Cough* (mind reels)
