Thankyou for this serv! They look like they’re having a lot of fun playing around, not acting at all! When I saw the gifs last night on Tumblr I searched for their origin without any luck, so this is a wonderful start to my day! ๐

Ana Cris is the one to thank ๐
I always wonder, when boys turn to men and abandon all the burping / chewing with their mouths open, etc., etc., if that is something forced on them or something they really want. I think we got our answer here. ๐

I thiink these guys had entirely too much fun. ๐

Again, Richard’s deep voice is immensely striking (!!) within that whole bunch of actors and other participants…(was it as low before he started to film โThe Hobbitโ??)

@linda60 – I noticed that too! I think he was still somewhat “in character” or something. ๐
@ Servetus- This is such a fun look at what goes on behind the scenes. Thanks!

This was a neat one to see, I think.
I’m waiting for them to release bts footage where they’re yelling at each other ๐

So true, i’ve actually exclaimed ‘OMG!’ when he started talking, it’s such a contrast with all the other guys. He is definitely keeping it towards the low end of his range, and I’d say it’s beautiful in combination with his unique timbre. Very much the King speaking ๐

I remember food fights in high school (no, I witnessed them, didn’t instigate) and was trying to remember whether they were fun or not. These guys seem to have made a definite decision on that. I wouldn’t want to have been the costume person afterwards, though ๐

How much fun they are having! Peter Jackson probably couldn’t stop laughing! I can’t see Thorin being involved in a food fight, all I can imagine is him walking in and rolling his eyes. LOL.

And, hopefully, same applies to burping ๐

in real life, anyway. He can do whatever he wants as Thorin.

I agree — hard to imagine Thorin descending so low ๐

I am very concerned about tomatoes in middle earth. They look nice, but wouldn’t have been available.

Weren’t tomatoes long considered to be poisonous as well? They are one of my fav foods, so I am glad they got all that out of the way. ๐ Give me a ripe tomato still warm from the vine, a knife, a bit of salt and get out of my way. ๐

Middle earth is modelled after medieval Europe and tomatoes only came from America later. Apparently in an early draft the Hobbit contained tomatoes, but Tolkien changed it. Dragons and elves are just fine, as we all know they once existed, but tomatoes are an intolerable anachronism.
