Nov 28th, 4:30 p.m., Wellington time

Just saw on RichardArmitageNet.com that the red carpet will be streamed on Cinemaxx.

Gotta start that time calculation thing, which I am not good at. I think that means it will be late Tuesday for me, no? The U.S. is 18-21 hours behind Wellington? So if it’s 16:30 in Wellington on Wednesday, that corresponds to 22:30 Tuesday in NYC, 21:30 Tuesday in Chicago, 19:30 on the West coast?

Do I have this right? Anyone? Anyone?

I already know there will be tears in my eyes the whole time. Geez!

If this is correct it’s good for me as it won’t interfere with work at all.

  1. I’m not great with the time adjustments either. TORn said it is at 7:30 pm PST…that’s the same as 19:30 right?

    • yes, that’s correct. I’m always worried that there’s some daylight savings time thing complicating something … 🙂

  2. The UK fans have a nightmare as it is 3.30am on 28th so that is going to be a tough one to get past DH! I may just get up earlier than usual and see if it is on youtube somewhere. I am like you, I think I will cry, this is also one of the reasons why I am going to see it first on my own, though knowing my luck I will have someone I know sitting near me! I can’t believe it is now so close.

    • I was dreading that, too, that it would be the middle of the night — though I am not wishing this on UK fans.

We’ll all be sobbing tears of joy together!

  4. Brilliant, a night seis. I think I’ll sleep ahead and then set the alarm to get up. Probably need to be up a bit early in order to catch a place on the stream before it becomes to busy. Very exciting, I hope there will be ample time for interviews! Thanks for passing on the time. In my calendar now!

    • If the Captain America experience is a lesson:

–there will be more than one stream offered by more than one outfit
      –they will all be free
–at least one of them will break down completely for most viewers
–we will be in chatrooms all over the internet telling each other what we can see
–some of the chatrooms will collapse
–some of the amazing technological whizzes in RA world will find a way to tap into it, record it, edit it, and upload it where we can all see it within twenty minutes of the end of the broadcast.

  5. That is awesome…I should be able to catch from the office after my last class – provided the bandwidth usage police don’t track me down 🙂

    • you shouldn’t need much bandwidth for this, I would guess. Not enough to make a university administrator notice.

      • assuming they would even be on campus when the peons finish teaching 🙂 (by peons, I mean me of course)

        • I only ever tripped that trigger once — during the weekend of the royal wedding, when I was sucking HD torrents of the event illegally. The boundary was hundreds of GB within a small time frame. Of course, that was a very large timeframe. And even then, I only got warned to turn off file sharing.

          • The issue for a university is almost never download, but rather upload, which is harder on their servers.

          • Yeah, I’d guess that unless one is a repeat offender, not much is going to happen to faculty. The perks are small, but I take them where I can get them 😉

            • it’s like with the library. You can get away with a lot b/c they can’t exclude you from it.

              • They can hardly afford to anymore…our librarian (months from retirement I think) tells me that the history department is basically the only one using it pedagogically. I think the shelves may be filled with a disproportionate number of books on Iron Age Greek pottery very shortly 😉

  6. I may be incredibly dense, but does one have to subscribe to Cinemaxx or pay a fee to watch the streaming video?

  8. OK 3.30 UK time is 4.30 Central European Time, so nope, I won’t be getting much sleep that night! But it’s a momentous event, wouldn’t want to miss it for the world!

    • No, me neither. Which surprises me a bit 🙂 Although I guess it’s been this way since Spooks 9 for me, when I think about it.
