Armitage confirms he was often trying not to be seen outside of costume while on set.

Here.

“Sometimes I was brought to set without the wig on and I remember hating it and wearing a hoodie because I just didn’t want [Thorin] to be humiliated in front of the crew.   I wanted them to believe that when they came on the set they felt a change in the atmosphere.”

You are shaping up to be one of the more interesting actors in your generation, Mr. Armitage. Lots of intriguing stuff in this interview.

  1. Richard in these last days has given dozens of interviews … and I think he is starting to show wear …. “How can you talk about a movie that no one but you have seen.”

Richard: I love your spontaneity, is one of the pleasures of life, but the last time I heard an interview was not enjoying it so much …. I was thinking more or less nervous you were going to say …. (I think I also need some rest)

    • I do think he’s getting tired (although not all of these interviews were given in the last week — some of them were given earlier and are appearing now, I’m sure).

If i hadn’t been following RA for long enough to know otherwise, this sentence would lead me to think he is a bit of a w*nker.

  3. This morning I thought of this comment from Richard and I’m thinking of the Greek theater. duality of sacred and profane, the transmutation of the actor …. etc

it seemed logical and correct the comment … Richard is a soul artist … I love him!

( sorry for my English, is not exactly my language … this is google translations)
