OT: The end of the world
This.
On the eve of the end of the world
I am comforted by the thought
that I have had a good life.
It’s not the life I planned,
or dreamed of,
or imagined,
but it’s a good one.
I am loved by many.
I love them right back.
I have the gifts of laughter,
compassion, encouragement,
and hope.
I have the capacity to forgive-
eventually,
and the willingness to admit I’m wrong-
usually.
But most of all,
I love that I love deeply,
and feel intensely,
and remember fiercely.
Ironically,
I once hated these things about myself
for they caused much pain and remorse.
But today,
on the eve of the end of world,
I am finally content with yesterday,
eternally grateful for today,
and hopeful that tomorrow will be
another day for me
to be me.
Serv, thanks for posting this. I love discovering new writers, and this was a particularly beautiful piece. It’s the 21st here already and the world hasn’t ended. It’s a beautiful day. Wishing you great success, fulfilment and happiness today and beyond.

She’s a fellow Armitage fan, too, though she doesn’t write about him 🙂
Wishing all the same to you.
