A graphic tweeted to me by Tannni. Go to her site and check out her “Black Swan” Thorin as well!

Love the guitar, not much for the black swan, but love most of her stuff, personal preference, obviously.

I’d got so used to seeing the sword as a guitar over the past few days, that it took me a minute to register what was different about this picture. I love it!

She’s so talented! Love the air guitar, and the Hobbit cats.

Funnily, Thorin looked more like a Blues singer than a rockstar while air guitaring in the vlog. I must say, the guitar does look natural in the picture, in an odd way

Yes, the guitar is perfectly fit into his hands… Although to my mind it ought to be a harp, a lyre or a lute – assuming RA being fully in character and so completely in Tolkien’s and middle-earth’s “claws” … Love the air guitar, btw.

Huh, I assumed from the angle and how he was kind of hunched over it that he was playing an acoustic…My daughter always stands when she plays electric but sits and hunches like that on her acoustic.

Most assuredly it’s an acoustic. I play an acoustic and you have to lean over the box. I was married to a rock and roll music a million years ago (1st marriage) and he leaned back when he played guitar.

Thorin “unplugged”! For those of us old enough to remember when Clapton did it with “Layla”. (I reference Clapton because I think Thorin would be a Blind Faith/Cream fan especially BF’s “Can’t find my way home”.)

My husband said to tell us if someone was wondering what chord he was playing–That’s hard since we don’t know how he tuned Orcrist. If it’s D drop chord it could be a different chord than standard F…LOL

If you were to walk into my living room right now, there are 2 Gibsons sitting on either side of the TV. 1 is mine, 1 is Jon’s. There is a Fender electric with amp in the guest room. There are 3, count ’em, 3 Gibson acoustics in Jon’s closet… You don’t even want to ask how many my son has…he used be a rock and roll musician in LA…now he’s stock broker (in Chicago) for which I paid massive amounts of college tuition…LOL

I think it’s time for a Thorin / Orcrist / air guitar / real guitar fanfic from such a knowledgeable fan!

That could be arranged.

Does the look on Armitage’s face disturb anyone but me? He looks so incredibly serious! Definitely playing the blues….

he’s partially Thorin there, no?

You think? I guess that may be what it is. He’s in character but not really.

I think what confuses it is the forehead — Thorin doesn’t usually show quite that much forehead, that’s the Armitage wrinkled forehead … ?

Yes. But he seems SO into his own world there. Yes, wrinkled forehead. Not Thorin.

Think about how good that make up, that he still put that much power into a minute of fun…I am still bowled over every time I see it. I want to throw flowers on the stage!!!
