    • It is totally a vortex. I spent a half an hour, flipping through caps to see if he *really* had nape curls in spe.

  2. He sure did! All that smoldering and lovelorn angst and then tender lovemaking with his eyes threw you off-balance, obviously.

  3. He does!! How did we miss that? I think I must have been mesmerized by the eyes and eyelashes! 😉 Now I’m even *more* intrigued as to why he is growing his hair again. *imagination going wild*

    • My imagination spinning out of control into vortex once again. Maybe he is growing it for new BBC production of miniseries Death at Pemberly and he will be Darcy. And that is the role he hinted at when he said his fans would be pleased. How’s that for rampant rumor mongering?

      • I think they’re already filming that production. No chance there. It would be odd to have him play Darcy after raising the romantic hero bar to near-Darcy levels with his portrayal of Thornton. This wait-and-see period IS testing fan endurance….we’ll run with any rumored morsel at present!

  4. Exactly. Who ever thought to look for nape curls at moments like these?
    Great research! 😉
When do we get out next glimpse of our post-Thorin actor? Can’t wait to see if the locks are still lengthening, or if he’s seen the barber.

  5. Never noticed before, probably I was looking at something other 😛
It’s curious because during the filming of TH in 2011-2012 he cut his hair really short, probably because it was easier to wear the foam head for the wig. This time on the contrary he had longer hair so, maybe, we can presume he had a reason not to cut them. Or he simply likes himself more with longer hair? Who knows… I’m so curious about his next projects! 😀

    • weather was also warmer for much of the 2011-2012 TH shoot — it was winter in Wellington when he was photographed a few weeks ago.

  14. Curling up with laughter here, no pun intended. Latent nape curl tendencies. *screams* I think I need to rewatch N&S. Are there any other nape curl candidates in the Armitage oeuvre? GoG – checked. JT – checked. Has anyone taken a closer look at the early Lucas North? Could be worth while…

  15. I found some latent nape curls on yet another character!

Quite the philanderer our Philip! Yet another “baddie” he played to the hilt!

  16. […] I wish, though, I had been the one to invent certain terms and words. For instance, whoever came up with “APM” and “Armitage Protection Mode”, was a genius. Was that you, Servetus, btw? I also would’ve liked to be responsible for the “napecurl” adage and the frenzy that developed over those cutesy-cute man-curls on the Armitagean neck. (With that word, I am pretty certain that Servetus coined it. Is this one of the earliest mentions?) […]
