  1. Is that not the outfit he wore for the Canadian premiere?

  2. Union train station Toronto? (CBC places it in Canada.)

  4. Good eye people! Here he is in said suit at the Toronto premier.

    Wow, you guys are good!

  5. Seems like, if he’s in a hurry, or if it’s an autograph seller, it’s initials. If it’s a real fan, and he’s got time, it ends up being his whole name. I don’t know if I could be so polite to those autograph sellers.

    • Autograph sellers are the devil. When I was at the stage door for Hugh Jackman they were awful. Pushed fans out of the way!! Pushed anyone out of the way! The most autograph I have from Hugh Jackman is a Playbill with HJ on it. At least I have a RArmitage from RA. LOL!!

    • You recognize real kindness when you see someone being kind when they don’t have to be.

  6. Those autograph hunters are organized thats for sure! That’s during the Toronto premiere, not the Union station appearance.

  7. I saw the lower photo on Pinterest the other day and wondered if it had only just surfaced. I am curious about why so many were presented together – although they are individually names, the names are pretty generic ( I can see Alex, Mary and Mike). Would Alex, Mary or Mike please step forward so I don’t suspect this was a professional autograph touter…

I notice RA has only signed RA too.

  10. I believe the first is shot just inside the lobby of the CBC building in downtown Toronto and the second is taken just outside of that building. I think it was taken when he was visiting the CBC building to do an interview with George Stroumboulopoulos in December 2012. I was at the show but did not see the “RA entry” into the building as I was inside at picking up my tickets and lining up etc.

    • It certainly looks like the same suit he was wearing on Strombo’s show! I still have it on my DVR or PVR as we seem to call it here in Canada. It was exciting just thinking of him being in the same country even though I live way out West! 🙂

BTW – I’m not in favour of these guys who make a profit out of these autographs. It’s a pity there wasn’t a way to limit them to just one or ban them all together!

      • I should just add, the “hunter” guy looks as though he couldn’t care less that he is standing beside Richard. If he was a *real* fan I think he would be pretty happy!

        • Deffo not a fan. But isn’t there a thing about autograph hunters always trying to get a photo with the celeb as a way of authenticating the autographs?

      • I don’t like them too. It’s not fair to make profit on Richard’s back. 😦

It seems that Richard doesn’t like them too. Usually, he signs his name in full and he puts an arm around the fan. 😉

  11. The best way to ensure that these autograph hunters do not make money is to NOT BID / NOT BUY the autographs. Just send your request via Richard’s agent. These autograph hunters are just another type of troll. If we make sure there’s not a market, it won’t be worth their effort.

    • Well, the best way to keep them from making money would be for *him* to say no. He doesn’t seem to do that, which suggests he’s willing to have them sold, at least at this point. I think there are legitimate reasons for buying his autographs, as we’ve discussed before.

  12. Richard only had time for RA at the London premiere but I forgave him because he did get to lots of people. Aidan Turner was AT but he did add Kili as though I didn’t know lol, and Dean put a full signature, Andy Serkis was just AS, Peter Jackson gave a full signature as did Ian McKellen Adam Brown almost filled the page and Slyvester McCoy chatted awhile but his signature was unreadable Martin Freeman wrote M Freeman. I had the feeling all the actors preferred to sign the copies of the Hobbit paperback rather than photos (Ian’s PA was sweet she took my book to him to sign then Ian returned himself)

  13. Another way to stop autograph hunters selling the autographs – if the person signing has enough time – is to ask the person asking for the autograph for their name. Autographs are harder to sell on if they start with ‘To XYZ’ on them.
