Richard Armitage Legenda 96: Stuff worth reading
[Legenda offers a brief, non-inclusive index of stuff about Richard Armitage that I noticed and enjoyed since the last episode. It doesn’t usually include materials presented on the major fansites, which I love dearly, but which are linked in the sidebar. Because I always forget or just miss stuff, please add additional pieces of interest via link in the comments.]
***
Editorial: Don’t worry, you’re not doing it wrong
In my opinion, there’s no right or wrong way to blog about Richard Armitage, and no right or wrong reason, no content in a blog that would disqualify someone as an Armitage blogger or suggest that s/he should stop.
(Any exception I can think of to that generalization involves behavior that’s criminal on its own terms and so doesn’t need a separate prescription from the fan perspective.)
As far as motivation goes, if you’re blogging for hits, if you’re not blogging for hits, if you want comments, if you don’t want comments, if you’re blogging to vent, to practice your writing, to learn some technical skills, to earn money, to spend money, to enhance karma, to destroy karma, to make friends with other people, to make enemies, to have conversations, to express your creativity, because you don’t know what to do with the time on your hands, if your motivation is healthy, if your motivation is unhealthy, if you don’t understand your motivation, if you have no motivation — or for any other reason you can think of or not think of — it’s all fine.
Really. Every fan and every blogger is good enough, just the way she is! There are no minimum requirements or rules for being an Armitage fan.
As far as readers go, it doesn’t matter why you’re here — but I’m happy that you are!
We all belong here in the Armitage blogosphere, all of us who want to talk and write about Richard Armitage, no matter what our motivation or what we have to say about Armitage.
Of course I don’t agree with everything I read. I know of at least two blogs where, when I see a new post pop up, I know that I’m likely to disagree with 80-90 percent of what’s been said. At least one sister blogger of ours blogs episodically because she dislikes what Armitage has been doing the last several years.
Does everything I read everywhere thrill me? No. But disagreeing with the content of something that I read, or even thinking I wish it hadn’t been written, is not a good reason for me to prescribe for others what they should or should not blog about. Not liking someone else’s motivation is never a convincing reason for me to tell her/him to stop writing.
The more diversity we have in our blogosphere, the more room for different opinions, the more creativity, the more possibilities there will be for everyone to find places where they wish to talk and associate.
Rock on, Armitage bloggers! Armitage commentators! Armitage blogosphere lurkers! We’re all good.

Make sure to read the disclaimers.

- Something I wish I’d gotten to read a lot sooner — but that gave me a big smile when I did — at wattpad, TheArkenstone’s “Hide and Seek,” an ongoing chapter in the adventures of Thorin and Lady 0akenshield. Yes, I think that’s me! Big smiles.

When we were youngsters (50s and 60s) on the Rocky and Bullwinkle show there was a cartoon that had a little boy named Sherman and a dog named Mr. Peabody who was like a professor. Sherman got the Wayback Machine as a birthday present. They would step in and go on historical adventures. It was a history lesson as a cartoon. It was very cool. We learned things while enjoying ourselves. Then they would show Fractured Fairy tales which were fairy tales that never quite ended the way they were originally written. Those were the good old days. Now I think there’s a website called the Wayback Machine…

Serv–I forgot to add– You mentioned you wished kilts would come to the US. When I was flying back from Chicago I was lucky enough to sit next to a god-like young man named Kurt who was wearing a black leather kilt outfit with spoorin, boots, and a bright blue t-shirt. He was magnicent. He was funny and I wanted to bring him home. Too bad he was married with a child. Guess where he worked. Utilikilts. He was going home to Charllottesville after doing a Fae Festival in Chicago. Check out their website http://www.utilikilts.com/ — I sent the link to my nephew who wore a kilt to his own wedding. He has already bought several of them. Apparently they are starting to be a hit with the crowd the used to be “goth– in the early 90’s.”

I had no idea you had a thing for Dean, S!
We’ve just caught up to the NZ airing of “The Almighty Johnsons” with 3 more episodes of season 3 left to air and we LOVE IT!
I highly recommend it to anyone who’s looking for something a little different (meaning not British or from the US).
During season 2 of the show Dean was off shooting a little independent movie you may have heard of called “The One with Hairy Feet” or “The Hibblet” or something like that, but when he comes back, it’s like a (very naughty but funny) bat out of hell.
You can watch TAJ on YT.

Hey, thanks for the link to my blog! I wouldn’t class myself an Armitage blogger, but he might just pop up every now and again, if you know what I mean…..I’m just doing this for me. Totally agree with the concept of being a fan, blogger, commentator or lurker in the way that’s suits you best. I’ve been involved in a fandom before, much too involved actually & ended up being disappointed in the end. So this time I’ve chosen to stay away from forums and away from places where arguments and bitchiness set in. Which is why I’m just loving all the blogs and tumblrs which are just happy to support someone who frankly, makes me smile. That’s all I’m asking for from the internet, a chance to share a smile
