OT: A brief moment of Hugh Jackman love from Servetus
Usually, I’m sort of left unmoved by Hugh Jackman, but I just saw this video.

I saw the uncut version of that video a few days ago and Jackman sure warmed the cold cockles of my heart 🙂 Now if only RA who appears in my dreams just stops morphing into Jakman, it’ll all be good!

Have to say that Hugh is a bit of a sweetie, with a great sense of humour…

That’s priceless 😉 He taught at Uppingham? Well gosh. NB it’s not very near London (perhaps unless you’re Australian and think in Aussie distances…)

LOL! Is there anybody who doesn’t like him? 🙂

With as many people as he sees on a daily basis, especially during a promo tour, it’s would be amazing to recognize a reporter you’ve met before! Let alone a kid he probably hasn’t see for twenty years. I have relatives I wouldn’t recognize if I ran into them in my home town! To remember a student and possibly something he did in school (forgot his kit…didn’t get in the pool?) that is flat out incredible.

That is rather lovely. Apparently he went back to the school for a visit when he was over here filming Les Mis and is still in touch with some of the students he tutored. I shall forgive him the faux pas of not remembering that Uppingham is in Rutland – although when he was there I believe it was classed as Leicestershire.

If only I’d known!! I grew up playing Uppingham School and would have been 15 at the time he was there aged 18! Maybe he watched me play hockey!

Of the little I’ve seen of this man off-camera (well, not in a role), he’s a genuine, thoughtful man – well deserving of a fervent fan base. Obviously, he’s not above the fray of us regular toilers and that he remembers former students means he really puts his heart into his professional interactions with others. I’m short, he cares. Awesome role model of a human being.

I am so glad you posted this. I love HJ from waaay back… he’s a darling man. Seems like a lovely fellow and very real, and this just melts my heart and makes me squee. Not, let me be clear, a 48 billion megaton squee of the sort I would let out for our lad. But — I do adore HJ.
Also, can you imagine having him as your high-school PE teacher if you were an adolescent girl? THE. WORST. I would have DIED.
I’m dying a little inside just thinking about it.

Particularly neat, from the teacher’s perspective, to see that the kid who didn’t bring his kit or follow directions in class has turned into an adult with a job. I always think that’s gratifying, when the problem student turns into a responsible person.

Very nice and sweet that he remembered a student. But working with students myself I think there will be those students that one will always remember.
There is always room to love others too.
