Collateral attractions: Dinner with Higgins?

Screen shot 2014-05-21 at 4.54.51 PMOnce upon a time I noted that if I were trying to make a living writing “that guy” blogs, Brendan Coyle might have been on the list of people I would approach. I also offered to date him, but no response from Mr. Coyle so far.

Now we can bid for a dinner with Brendan Coyle in NYC. Coyle is known to us, of course, as Higgins in North & South, and to many of us as Mr. Bates in Downton Abbey. He’s also been in perennial favorite Lark Rise to Candleford.

Proceeds from this dinner date will benefit Origin Theater Company, a widely praised New York theater group that brings the best works of emerging European playwrights to its audiences.

Thanks to Mr. Coyle for offering this intriguing opportunity — somehow I bet there will plenty of interest in this dinner!
