Can’t suppress my excitement about the Battle of the Five Armies trailer

Here are two beautiful animated GIFs of Richard Armitage as Thorin, from circusgifs:

And ra-overload has extracted as sound files both of Thorin’s lines: “I will have war” and “Will you follow me, one last time?”

Also, dwarves:

  1. Have you noticed that RA catches the camera in the first gif? Just a split second…

    • they look great together. Although so sad. I hope we get to see them be all happy together at least for a moment.

  5. The trailer is magnificent. I was so worried that the third movie was just going to be one big drawn out (boring) battle sequence. But the trailer is so poignant. So soft and sad. No one can deliver a line like Richard Armitage….”will you follow me; one last time?” It touches your heart. This is going to be good!

  6. I don’t think my heart can take much more. Seriously. Tolkien hits me in such a deep place, and adding Richard is like taking a crowbar to it. :}

    • I’d been wrestling with the whole “how much pre-publicity is too much” question again yesterday — for me, in the past, it’s been about the beginning of November, the point at which i think, I can’t watch any more of this or it will be ruined. It may be much earlier this time …

    • I’m sure they could be converted but I don’t know how to do that, not having a smartphone myself.

      • I don’t know how either, but I’d be willing to try for that 🙂

        • first you’d have to download the file. (I do this on firefox by playing it, and then using an extension called NetVideoHunter.) Then you’d have to figure out what format the file was in, and whether there was a program for converting it to the format you needed for your phone, and find software to do that. Then upload.

          • Thanks! My phone is getting older and increasingly useless (never been as smart as it looks), but I appreciate knowing what you use to download sound files…. I’ve been thinking about getting a new phone soon, I can use this as another excuse lol.

  8. if you’re using Firefox, go to netvideohunter.com and download the plugin, install and then restart Firefox. This will let you download probably 3/4 of the audio and video files that show up on the Internet. There are more comprehensive programs, but not for free, and this one works well with youtube. You can also use a site called keepvid.com but in my experiences the results are more unpredictable.

    • I am pretty devoted to Chrome, but it looks like netvideohunter is pretty popular…. I’m checking out something called apowersoft that works with chrome, it looked decent from cnet reviews and I was able to save these. What I will do with them besides play them and smile, I don’t know yet 🙂 I will probably have to check out NVH too because it does sound more versatile. It won’t kill me to use FF once in a while…. this is fun, thanks again 🙂
