Armitage fan Summer 2014 calm down: Is it finally here?

The Crucible continues for one more month, with its predictable rhythms; Into the Storm is launched; the next target date for Hobbit stuff is the Extended Edition DVD release of The Desolation of Smaug in November; we have no news on Urban and the Shed Crew; and the publicity for The Battle of the Five Armies is also probably at least a little way off. And no new project announcement yet, not that I’ve been expecting one, frankly.

I’ve really been enjoying not having the pace of news that we had ten days ago — it’s been fun to look over some of the more recent stuff and enjoy and ponder it. How about you? Enjoying the slow-down? Desperate for more?

        • That line bothered me from when I heard it in the trailer. Glad to hear someone else mention it 🙂

          • Sarah and I go way back…it started when I enthusiastically applauded during the credits of Season Three Episode Four of The Walking Dead. She’ll never get anything past me again. Especially not than has ever been!
            Right.
Oh, and I blame the writer, mostly. LOL Apologies to Mr A if this happened to be one of his brilliant suggestions. (Sorry, now I’m just entertaining myself)

            • I also feel like if you’re going to say “than has ever been!” you have to say “been” like you’re a Brit, for dramatic emphasis. Her American pronunciation just kind of kills that line.

              • If I wasn’t sure you had already seen every picture of him in print I’d send a few examples of bad taste just to be cheeky. Or if I was truly brave I’d pin that video from you tube of his finest BTS moments right here so it would start playing and women around the world would be scrambling to cover the screens so as not to traumatize their children.
Yes, he’s CLEARLY grown out of it.

I completely agree, re the pronunciation. Though I will admit she’s impressed me in interview with her meteorological knowledge. Something I would never have imagined.

  2. honestly, I haven’t kept up with it all. But I am so happy for him. I hope he is soaking it all in and enjoying it all.

  3. I haven’t kept up with everything really, either, but I’ve enjoyed what I have seen and read and been involved in. I think a bit of a break is in order. I remain so very proud of and happy for our fella. ❤

  4. I just hope the extended version is offered in SD and not just Blu Ray and 3D

  5. Hearing that he’s recently auditioned for a new role piqued my interest far
more than “Into the Storm”; I’m happy he’s got another film under his belt and I enjoyed the publicity for it, but I admit I’m completely uninterested in these type of films. I’d much rather see “Urban”–hopefully it will be available in the States. ::hopes my well-wisher membership card isn’t revoked::

  6. I’m ready for a slow down. I have numerous emails that I haven’t opened yet. I also have been spending far too much time on the computer 😉

I have enjoyed all of your up to the minute posts Serv; I have read all of yours! Thanks for finding so many interesting articles, tweets and posts.

  7. I have a friend who’s been running a Michael Fassbender blog since 2008 and she doesn’t have time to keep with every picture, interview, article or tidbit on Fassbender. Lots of stuff goes by her because the volume of material Fassbender generates since 2011 has been skyrocketed. He always has 5 films in the works simultaneously. It makes me jealous for RA because as much as I like Fassbender, RA is just so much better. I want those GQ covers and A-list directors for RA too.

    • This blog doesn’t cover everything, either. Some of it I don’t want to cover, but it would just be impossible. The fan sites come close.

      • I think we all (bloggers, fansites, forums) play our roles in the fandom—I never set out as an RA blogger to “cover it all” and it’s a good thing I didn’t, because there have been times when it there’s no way I could even come close. I think there’s a little something for everybody out there in the RA world. And I do appreciate what you’ve done to help us stay on top of things.

  8. I think if there is a slow down coming, I will be like a junkie without a fix. I have become spoiled on how much new RA stuff appears almost every day. At the least, there are stage door sightings. I can remember when we went months waiting for any new photos, articles or information of any kind. So if we have to go back to the dribs and drabs we used to have, I may have to go into serious Richard Rehab. I think there is a really good one in Malibu.

  9. I will welcome a bit of a slow down so I spend less time on the iPad and more time doing what I should be doing – or reading. But I really, really look forward to news of Urban because I think that’s going to be a great film and a great role for RA.

And of course, I have yet to see ITS – it hasn’t opened here yet.

  10. I don’t think there will be a slow down. Baz Bamigboye, who was the first to tell us about Richard’s role in The Crucible, said some time ago on twitter, that Richard is ” solidly booked up” after TC. If that information is true, a new role could be on the horizon.

    • Just a note that there’s a difference between a news slow-down and a work slow-down. He may work more; that doesn’t mean we’ll get more publicity. And, I have to say, compared to last week, I’m already experiencing a (to me) beneficial news slow-down. I don’t need four new interviews a day to be happy!

  11. A slow-down may be underway. But it doesn’t feel like it here in DK. Every evening Richard is on my TV screen. It’s the trailer announcing the coming of ITS 🙂

I’m intrigued about the rumour of yet another role of a lifetime for RA. I hope it’s something good, and that he gets to sink his teeth into this one.
