  1. love this, it must be sooooo relaxing! ๐Ÿ™‚ he looks totally zen ๐Ÿ™‚ (and it is actually very very nice to have somebody gently apply powder or something light with a makeup brush over the face)

    • I personally hate strangers touching my face, but I mostly posted this because I’ve always admired the fact that he apparently doesn’t care about his hair — but I guess someone has to at least try to comb it before an official experience …

      • i am sure his hair has a will of its own ๐Ÿ˜‰ which i like too, but cute the way she tries. And the rest is minimal i think just a bit of powder for the light, there’s nothing there on the desk. Usually make up artists, who i admire, seem to carry wagons of stuff! I thought it would be annoying to have anyone else apply make up on my face and that it would feel like wearing a mask until i went along with it and it was like having a massage! brilliant ๐Ÿ™‚ I’d do it again if i could afford it, not for the looks but for the relaxation value ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I love the cup of tea in his hand. I do wonder if he drinks a lot of tea or lets a lot of tea go cold because he seems to always have a half drunk cup on the go.

  3. She did a great job on Philippa Boyens, wauw. And PJ’s hair seems under control here ๐Ÿ™‚

I like being properly make-upped for parties ๐Ÿ™‚ I hardly wear any on a daily basis. However, I’m quite fussy about the hygiene. The idea that sponges, brushes etc. have been applied to someone else’s face, I don’t like. I once had a really nice make-up applied in Harrods of all places. I came out looking like a movie star, but the following two days, I had so many pimples, and I usually never break out like that.

    • I just don’t like the feeling of makeup on my face, I don’t like how it gets on stuff, I don’t like all the hassle around removing it. I have occasionally worn coverup over embarrassing bruises, e.g., a few times on my arms, when I couldn’t avoid wearing a short sleeve shirt. (And I think I look fine w/o it, so there’s that …)

  4. Ah, so the “absent-minded professor”-look is carefully contrived? ๐Ÿ˜‰ Upon seeing the China PC pictures, I actually thought he looked as if he had eye-make-up. I never would have guessed his hair had been styled…

  5. Perhaps it is because they are in China or perhaps he always has this done and then by the time he reaches the red carpet and such it is pretty much blown back into its usual style. I’m sure he doesn’t really want all the other stuff done but we should ask him one day about all that and see what he says. I like the way he has always seemed to not care about all that stuff and just been relaxed n his work.

      • I only managed to do that ‘red carpet’, and not all who went there can get close to the carpet. There were lucky people who even had tickets and watched the movie but not me.

      • To be honest, I think the place they cleared for premiere is quite a small area. It’s the entrance hall of a cinema no more than 200 square meters surrounded by various shops. Stage was temporarily built for photographer, that centre area was the best place for phototaking. The stage faced those statues and large posters, where Peter & others going to walk. There was a parallel narrow passage behind the stage. Fans were lined up then allowed into the passage to fill the flanks of the stage… I think before PJ and others came there were about 50 people inside the passage and a bit more outside.

      • I went with my friends and we were all standing inside the passage. One of the New Zealand officials gave a speech first, then we waited. The MC joked they were trafficjammed but we didn’t wait for long before Richard Taylor emerged from a gate and walked towards us. At first when warner bros announced who would come to premiere, they didn’t mention RT, and he was not in press conference. But when we know he would come to this premiere we prepared gift for him: a hand-made burglar contract written in Chinese characters, a frame of painting and a trophy. He was tall and very kind. I stood behind dozens of people but could still see him signing things. Then he walked towards those cameras and showed them the contract.
RA got the same gifts (this time Thorin in the frame). He came in after Peter and quickly walked to the camera, probably because Peter was surrounded already. Everybody around me was crying Peter or Richard…and then RA came to the crowd and started signing too.
I couldn’t see Peter except for his hair, but RA was easy to spot. He wore a very fitting, classic suit, just the same as I saw him in various pics.

quite late, I’ll write more tomorrow
