University of Waikato announces its last Hobbit film survey
Here. I’ve done all the previous ones, and they are fun as an opportunity to think about why you liked or didn’t like these films. In the first survey they note that only 7.2 percent of respondents were watching the films because they were fans of one or more actors involved (that number seemed really low to me, especially given the sort of things said about the casting — so surprising.) Even more interesting this time, they have links to the research they have published on the basis of the surveys before. One of the articles linked goes extensively into the impact of my biggest problem with Peter Jackson — his involvement in the New Zealand labor disputes of 2010 — on the reception of the films. Check it out.
Very interesting survey. Thank you for sharing!

I thought so, too — can’t wait to read their research papers.
