  1. Thanks for the mention! BTW I saw Into the Storm last week. I felt it was poorly directed but RA did as much as could be done with it.

    • Got my copy! But as you know, I am incredibly slow to get things read.

I don’t think Into the Storm is going to go down in the annals of either great films or things we remember Armitage for, but yeah, for what it was, he was okay. And it was strangely comforting for me to watch it this summer when I was feeling buffeted by my emotions.

      • It’s funny, at first I thought maybe his American accent wasn’t great. Then I realized that every actor in the movie was delivering certain lines weirdly, but all in the exact same way. So, direction. The director was good with a camera and choosing/framing his shots, but not so much with actors.

And I hope you’ll enjoy it whenever you might get to it. 🙂

  2. I thought the same thing. Definitely not an actor’s director. Sort of a “line ’em up and leave ’em” way of directing. Add a really poor script and not much attention to details (like most of the Oklahomans speaking without Okie accents, which btw, would have been easy to do), and all you’re left with are the special effects. Of course, the found footage angle was interesting, but it really requires a very natural style of acting. After I viewed the movie, I came to the conclusion that the Americans were better at that style than the Brits. Anyway, it was a fun diversion for a couple of hours.
