  1. He’s got a sort of Lucas-y look on his face here . . . although I cannot imagine Lucas in this particular outfit. Richard Armitage, on the road again (so to speak) . . .

  3. I agree. This is Lucas North, dying his hair brown, after escaping the Bateman debacle.

  4. Loving the whole look – and he certainly has the legs for wearing shorts! sigh

    • One of my great regrets about all that Hobbit behind the scenes stuff was that he apparently wore jogging pants for all of it — no pics of that stuff with shorts 😦

  5. Hold on? Shorts and tweed jacket??? But yes, Summer RA is lookin’ good. (On another note – I am always amazed that there is something there to take a pic… He’s not that easy to recognize for non-fangirls. Or is he?)

    • I think he still does a lot of flying where he doesn’t get photographed. If this was in JFK he somehow got to LA and left LA without anyone noticing. But I am guessing there are more people who recognize him now.

    • I have never seen a guy flying or for that matter walking around, in shorts and a jacket, in the summer. I know it gets cold on planes, but most guys carry a sweater or sweatshirt. Maybe he couldn’t fit it into his heavy bag so he had to wear it. He will be in San Diego on Sat., so we might get a shot of more traveling RA in the meantime. Mimi and I will keep our eyes open for any sightings.

      • Those shoes are actually exactly what I expected him to have on with that outfit. Which is… certainly a statement of some kind. Is this one of the times he dressed himself, I wonder?

        • I think that’s the blazer from last year — he wore it a radio interview (for ITS, I think?) but yeah, I think it’s him putting this together.

    • I thought exactly the same! These black shoes doesn’t fit to the rest. Without them, it’s a really nice look. Perhaps he rejected his flip-flops because they are too slippery with all the luggage to carry on. And always with this electronic thing in his hand…

      • one would sort of expect someone in his generation to wear dock shoes, but I guess the canvas shoes are in style now, and good for airport security, I suppose.

  9. RA on the move. He must be returning to JFK because his suitcase has got flight tags on – several of them – one indicates it’s a heavy one.

  11. I would say bless his cotton socks! But he’s clearly forgotten them in this shot. Is that phone stuck to his hand? It’s a definite deflection ploy. Suitcase has heavy label on dear me Mr A. What are you packing LOL…

  12. Seeing there is a heavy tag on the luggage and an airline tag, I would conclude he was arriving at JFK.

    • I was wondering about that. On the one hand, it’s hard to take anything as a carry on on a plane these days that might be used as a weapon. Of course, probably people aren’t going to suspect a first class passenger of wanting to hijack the plane. On the other hand, if you put something that’s mostly metal in a suitcase, your luggage will also be subject to extra scanning, which puts it at risk of theft, and of course, anytime you check luggage you’re at risk of not getting it back.

  15. I am lucky enough to travel business or first, but then from what I can work out, I am a lot older than most of you so I feel I have earned the privilege. Whether first or economy one cannot carry on anything that could be a weapon, and let us not forget he said that he had two. One for Peter Jackson. Unfortunately one has to take a chance with putting things inside your check in bags, but we don’t have too many options these days. Usually Jewelry or money is not wise to put in those bags. Also if you travel business or first, one is allowed two bags free check in, so a bag that is heavy will not cost him anything. What I find curious is that it looks like he was dressed coming from California. It has been unbelievably hot here, but why is he leaving one week before he has to return. He seems to enjoy flying around. There are many times when he did not have to make certain trips but he always does it.

    • I wondered the same thing, Bernice. If he had to be in San Diego next weekend why fly back to New York now?

      Like

      • I thought about it too, and I think he would rather be “home” in NYC, than hanging around LA or SD. He is not a pool or beach person (inferring that from his aversion to water) so he might as well fly back and forth. There is probably nothing in Southern California he is interested in seeing, at least in the summer, since he has been here many times over the years. Just guessing, as a naive Southern Californian who has left no tourist attraction (big or small) unvisited with out -of- towners. Of course, as his volunteer tour guide, I would be glad to show him some out -of -the way places he might be unfamiliar with. 🙂
