I have to say it irks me to see that crew without Richard. I guess Mads and Hugh aren’t in this shot either. Richard won best supporting actor on television – against a formidable group – for his Dolarhyde role that same night. There is virtually no video coverage of that presentation to be found. Hopefully someone reading this could help. But RA was passed over for even a nomination for an Emmy. His participation at SDCC for Hannibal was masterful and very well received by fans. Argh. I’m posting this from a link to a post in June 2017 – but I wasn’t even an RA fan then !!!
He attended in 2015, but I don’t think Dancy and Mikkelsen were there on that occasion, either, and Armitage went b/c of nominations related to The Hobbit — he won best supporting for that and also accepted on behalf of Peter Jackson. My recollection of 2016 is that he was in the Emmy field, i.e., the studio proposed him, although there are pages and pages of actors proposed. But almost nobody saw Hannibal, and the end of the third season was a disaster ratings-wise as the cancellation came halfway through the season (and the first half of the season was hard to understand if you weren’t a fan already). The Saturn Awards promised a video of the 2016 ceremony, but they never delivered. Every now and then someone pesters them about it.

OK, wait, no. He wasn’t eligible for an Emmy in the 2016 cycle, because of the funny time at which Hannibal aired. He was in the subsequent field.

I hope I’ve got that right. Anyway, I did remember this article about it: http://www.goldderby.com/article/2016/emmy-spotlight-richard-armitage-hannibal-red-dragon-319752468/
