Scary stuff last night. It seems hard to imagine that it will work in this country and at this time, at least that is what I wish to believe.

Admittedly I don’t agree with the GOP platform, but even if I did, I would be embarassed that this is the side of America that the GOP wishes to show the world: the frightened, hostile, violent, ignorant, cynical part. Because I don’t believe we are really like that in the aggregate.

His people probably loved it. Judging by their treatment of Cruz, it seems they are unifying. The more you hear, the more maddening and frightening he is.

if any of them were still awake for it last night. Ana Navarro (CNN commentator, Latina Republican) made a great comment, essentially that the average GOP voter wasn’t up late for this kind of thing.

The kind of voter who would like this sort of speech probably wasn’t watching the convention at all. But who on the fence would be convinced by this speech? The skeptical RNC delegates that were interviewed on PBS were looking for Trump to talk about his policies and plans, which he didn’t do.

Same on CNN. Undecided voters interviewed were not thrilled by Trump. This must have been about the GOP base.

That’s because he doesn’t have any actual policies or plans. He only has shocking sound bites.
