Huh. I’d say that comment reflects his knowledge that accepting them is the quickest way to get people to move on, which is something he’s done off and on since the beginning.

May be I haven’t seen enough of his interviews but the ones I have seen are the ones where he tries to deflect it . This is first time I have heard him say thank you.

In the earlier half of that same interview the interviewer also makes reference to his looks and it appears to have no effect on him at all.

I think, good at his job. These people do tons of these and they have no way of keeping up with the amount of stuff they’d have to watch / read / listen to in order to ask intelligent questions. The best thing to do is to ask a general, open-ended question and get out of the way.
