So, yeah, I saw Love, Love, Love with Richard Armitage!
Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!
I’ve been in Manhattan since Thursday watching Richard Armitage’s play, Love, Love, Love.
Because things get hairy from here (traveling back to Wisconsin tomorrow morning, voting on Tuesday, Wednesday morning I have computer repairs scheduled), I wanted to check in briefly. Forthcoming are detailed comments on the five performances of the play I saw, as well as Berlin Station episode 4, which I saw from a hotel room, and then a brief discussion of another play I saw at Roundabout, in their Black Box series. It’s called Kingdom Come and tickets are very affordable — it was enjoyable and thought provoking and touches centrally on the question of making friends via the Internet. Since I spent quite a bit of time this weekend with friends I made via the Internet, I recommend seeing it if it’s convenient to you … as the tandem issues of “what is identity when we can’t see someone” and “how does perceived embodiment affect what is being said” are both relevant to the fandom …
But most important of all, if you can afford it, and you’ve been on the fence about seeing Love, Love, Love (are there any undecided voters left?) I strongly recommend that you see the play in its Off Broadway run. I’ll talk more about why in the next few days — but if you’ve hesitated at all, I strongly endorse first reading the play to see if you think it’s something you would enjoy, and if so, then really making the effort to see it.
More soon.
I’ll look forward to your account.
Yay, you’re there😍😍😍

yes, but it was the typical NYC stage door. I spoke to him briefly once and I’m not sure he heard me. Other than that I wanted to make sure first-timers got a shot.

How thoughtful of you.
I do hope he undertakes another project in the UK in the next couple of years. I didn’t know what “SD” was until September!! 😉

Thank you, for your comments and good return far from the agitation of Broadway. Nobody will blame you for your priorities.
I would recommend every body to attend to LLL, whether you are narrow or on the contrary whether you are open-minded. In any case, whoever you are or whatever your state of mind, with which you approach it, is, this black comedy would only mess up your fancy hair.
Bonne semaine!

Thanks — six plays in four days didn’t leave room for much else, but I’d been there before. Had a nice meal or two 🙂

I agree. See the play if possible. Preferably accompanied by a gaggle of amusing and thoughtful friends, from the net or wherever else you may find them.

That’s so great! I’m sure it was fun to get together with fellow fans met via internet too! Living in RA-land vicariously (in the meantime, I’m re-watching Robin Hood) … Looking forward to the detailed posts! Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!

Reblogged this on Me + Richard Armitage and commented:
About a year ago I was in NYC on the weekend of the marathon, watching Love, Love, Love. Those days are still all jumbled up in my head …
