It’s just a great scene #richardarmitage

I got to tune back in just as Azog murdered Fili. That final death scene is so memorable. Still makes me cry.

  1. Still ticked off that Fili’s body lay there at the bottom of the cliff unattended. Kili had Tauriel staying with him. Thorin had everyone else. Fili? The heir to the throne? No one.

And, yes, that’s where I start crying, too.

  2. Strangely enough, I watched the old vlog yesterday that dealt with the bts of the death scene. And even though it was not the final cut, seeing RA act that particular scene made me tearful… powerful stuff.

    • He was really committed. (I mean, not that that’s surprising for him, of course — but witnessing that is moving for me).

      • Yup. And it just surprised me that the scene was powerful even though I was seeing it in the context of it being made – with last make-up touch-ups, equipment in the shot, directions from the director. BTS – and still so raw… Committed and very real…

  3. Oh yes, even seeing just the one photo brings back all the feelings, great stuff. I think as time passes i only appreciate more what we had with the Hobbit in terms of everything about it…
