it is nuts, how happy a new sighting still makes me feel.

  1. I am left wondering – was he leaving New York for Berlin or coming into New York from somewhere?

    • I’m guessing arriving JFK, because there was a driver waiting for him with a sign. No reason for anyone to pick him up if he was leaving.

      • That’s what I thought too, because of the sign. But I also wondered because I thought Berlin shooting starts in March.

  2. I was thrilled in the moment as well, but in hindsight I’m not sure about his being caught. I guess it’s okay since it was a happy coincidence, and not a stalker. 📱 📷

  3. He’s just Dorian Gray-ing it! In the 2 or so years I’ve been in his fandom, I don’t think I’ve ever thought, ” wow, RA is looking old today!”

He’s also mastered the art of looking awesome coming off a plane. I’m always a mess!

    • it probably helps if you go first class.

But I agree — from this glimpse, anyway, he looks fantastic. Well, maybe he had a date planned.

      • 1st class probably helps. But it’s the same stuffy air, and sleeping in one’s clothes. It’s definitely an art!

        How late was this btw?

        • She posted it at about 10 p.m. US Central time, so it would have been before that, not sure how much. I.e., he wouldn’t necessarily have slept, although he might have (and I always do on planes).

  4. Wouldn’t it be fun to be the one to just happen to see him? I don’t think I could get myself together enough to take a quick pic though!

  5. I don’t think it’s nuts at all! The thrill I get with a new sighting is just as strong now as it ever was. 🙂

  6. Oh always happy to get a glimpse 😊 love those energetic strides

  7. If I would see him at an airport or station I would be paralysed with open mouth and couldn’t take a pic. Lucky one who has had a good reaction and who makes us also feeling happy.

  8. Happy but sorry too It becomes a bleak story. It seems like: I just recognize, starving fans anymore only settling for bread crumbs .

    • I’m sorry you see it that way; I don’t. We have hundreds if not thousands of pictures of him to look at, so this is hardly breadcrumbs. I’m not happy because of scarcity. I’m happy because seeing pictures of him makes me happy.

      • I agree WITH YOU, scarcity but quality. If he could be more appreciate, recognized for his talent, I should blow my socks off.

  9. I’m glad to see an actual fan take the photo, instead of paparazzi. One of the things I find most appealing about him compared to other actors is how quiet he is. He’s out there doing PR when he needs to but returns to his private life and keeps it private. I’ve observed other fandoms and RA’s fans are a pretty stable group, aside from his tweet removals and a bit of bickering. There is something to be said for having a clear boundary between public and private, I think that keeps his fans relatively stable. No scandals or endless paparazzi photos of his every move. When he does surface it’s much more special. He doesn’t exhaust us with his public persona.

    • He’s not really “worth it” for photographers to lie in wait for, though, either. Not clear whether those photos would have any resale value. And he learned his lesson about saying he was getting on a plane in 2015 — doubt he will ever do that again.

  10. Liked the sighting too. Wherever he was was arriving from, he had quite a load of luggage. Twice as much as I took on a three-week trip. Of course, I don’t have to look good while travelling. No one is likely to snap a photo of me striding through an airport (thank God) . I agree that going first class is the best way to preserve good looks while flying. Nothing is worse than sitting in a crappy seat for hours, with the seatback in front of you eight inches from your face. At the very least he gets a nice hot towel to wipe his pretty face with before exiting the plane.

  11. I know, right? I feel giddy as a school girl – Silly, really, at my age 🙂
I always wonder about the size of RA’s luggage…I pack a lot of stuff, but my suitcase is never as big as his. This is not what I call light travelling.

    • well, I think he was there three weeks, so if you think normal clothes plus exercise clothes, plus stuff you can wear to be made up, plus one or two things for “nice,” it does start to run into volume. I wonder if he carries “creature comforts” at all. It’s one of the most common recommendations for people who spend a lot of time in hotel rooms or rented apartments — bring five or six things that make you feel at home.

      • or perhaps the accompanying clothing for someone leading any of these dogs … I wonder if he bought those Givenchy shoes after they finished filming.

        • Why not ?
Well, if I were in his shoes, perhaps, I would offer them to a close friend who likes canidae, because I definitely prefer felines.
          miaou against woof!

  12. The thrill of finding Wally… er Richie! I love these sightings too. 🙂

  13. I repeat the bloke is a ninja. He’s a master of hiding in plain sight.
