Clues to plot of Berlin Station 2? #richardarmitage

Here‘s an article in German from the Berliner Zeitung via the German RA Board, about a scene they were shooting. I won’t translate it word for word, but the gist is that a German actress, Natalia Wörner, was shooting a scene for the series in which she was at the podium in a political rally for a group called “Perspektive für Deutschland.” This isn’t a real political party but I wonder if it’s a reference to “Alternative für Deutschland,” the current far Right political party.

  1. Yep. Looks very much like an AfD/Pegida rally

    • I wonder what whatshisname thinks about it, her boyfriend …

        • I’m not sure that’s a role I’d want to play. Although when you think of how many people end up playing Nazis … ?

  3. Interesting, will read through in detail, will be topical with the elections coming up and all that…
By the way, sorry to be off topic, i think you were definitely right in thinking he replaced Damian Lewis in O8. I must have been v tired and preoccupied elsewhere to not notice earlier that DL had been in London for a really long time already rehearsing for a play – Goat, which premiered the other day to fairly good reviews. I did notice the play and DL in it, i just didn’t make the connection (play is on my to-do, as is Salome, need to get my act together to book). Interesting DL chose to do a play instead (or maybe he had committed earlier and timelines for shooting shifted; in any case he’s been doing quite a bit of high profile TV lately so maybe he was just keener on being back on stage).

    • I don’t know that I ever made that assertion, but I think it was a hypothesis shared by a lot of people. (I haven’t followed it that closely, tbh).

I think the only reason to be in a film like that is as a career builder or vanity project — presumably Lewis doesn’t need either of those things. I can’t imagine it will be great art. But I could be wrong.
