  1. Just imagine if Lucas North had to save the PM now… Or for the other side of the Atlantic: What about Lucas’ ties to Russia?

  2. Anyway i am moderately pleased with the outcome, at least they can’t do just what they want and will have as a minimum to consult… could have been so much worse. I am immensely reassured that the country i knew i not completely gone and a modicum of common sense still exists. We’ll see what happens from now on…

We all in the office on the other hand were watching the hearing in the Senate yesterday… nail biting stuff too… What times we live in.

    • Hard Brexit (or no deal) now seems less likely. Also, I was really happy in light of all the terrorist problems recently that UKIP more or less fell apart.

      • Well, you could look at it the other way, though: For a party whose aim was to take Britain out of the EU, the years has been extraordinarily successful. They have reached their goal. Their purpose has been fulfilled. So they might as well disband, since they have achieved what they set out to do. wry smile

        • I’d have guessed that their anti-immigrant stance, which was also directed at non-EU migrants, would still have a lot of appeal, but I’m glad that’s not the case.

          • I suspect that voters have quickly copped on that closing the borders goes both ways. There are 1.2million Britons living abroad in the EU…

    • re: Comey — yes. Insane. Insane.

  3. Yeah, mildly relieved at the result – I kinda love that May’s plan on getting a bigger mandate backfired, she really can’t go it alone, shoving what she wants down everyone’s throat without taking into consideration other views. It’ll be an ever tougher ride for her now so she’d better shape up.

    • that’s really been a problem for her all along; I was just reading about the firing of her aids, who seemed to support her “I’ll do it myself” style.
