I loved watching The Crucible and I loved watching Richard Armitage take his shirt off.

And since I didn’t see it from this angle closeup, this is a great opportunity to revisit it 🙂

No one reading this would blame you for appreciating that view. Most likely those of us not lucky enough to go to London wish we were right there with you. Even on the screen it was breath-taking, and I mean that literally. (hence the hyphen)

Part deux: Oh, and the #1 after ‘objectification’ gives me hope that more are coming…..

Yes, I feel that lately I have neglected the objectification of Armitage and I need to rectify that.

So happy you did Serv! 😉 I hope I don’t gasp too loudly when I see it in the movie theatre. I don’t want to disgrace the family!! I know it won’t quite have the same impact as seeing it live but I’m already on medication for heart palpitations so I may have to take something to keep me calm before I go! 😀

It’s cool to see it on the big screen. Definitely take that medication with you!

In the spirit of objectification…while watching “My Cousin Rachel”, I couldn’t help but notice the scene where Sam Claflin washes his upper body by splashing water from a basin. If there were a contest, our older man would win (from my POV anyway)!

Armitage is probably more experienced in naked upper body washing with basin.

Of course! He had to do it night after night, after all!

I remember the shock that went through the fandom when someone tweeted it during the first preview — so I knew about it, but I was no less shocked when it happened right in front of me the first time.

It was less shock more like “Woah… is he really do… oh yes he is… oh… hnnn… look at that back my god… and that… [noises] hey wait… do it again?! Please?”

I know, it’s one of those moments where you wish you could set your live theater on infinite replay …

Ode to Objectification
Is there any justification,
For Armitage objectification?
I ponder as I enjoy the view,
Hoping that you think so too.
We watched you wash off some grime,
Revealing scenery uncommonly fine.
So in your next role would you take a chance,
And consider ditching your character’s pants?

Let’s call it synecdoche as opposed to objectification 🙂 Lovely poem!
