He potentially did okay in 2015 because he made Hannibal at the beginning of the year (although it had a reputation as one of the lowest cost TV dramas on at the time). But that year also included Pilgrimage and Brain on Fire, both of which were made mostly on grant money, and although Berlin Station was supposed to start in late 2015 I wonder if he got the pay check for that during that year or if it didn’t going into 2016.
I think I finally realized why the growl, thanks to a tweep. I thought #motw meant “movie of the week,” i.e., that’s what the offer is on iTunes, but apparently it means “monster of the week.”
