I cheated again last night with Aidan Turner

It took me less time than usual to recap Berlin Station last night, but I still stayed up for the late showing of Poldark. As we’ve discussed before, this show is both silly and offensive (another rape scene), and for political and cultural reasons I should stop watching, but for some reason I cannot quit Aidan Turner.

This pains me really severely. At the moment, Richard Armitage’s is the face I want to see most on the screen of any face in the world, but season 2 of Berlin Station has been (after episode 1) disappointment after disappointment. It’s not that Poldark is great, but still there are moments and kernels of honest emotion there. It had been a long day, and I needed something last night that Berlin Station will never be able to give.
