Richard Armitage tangentially related
Current projects:
- (Arden’s Wake: Tides Fall): You can see it at the Penrose Studios booth at Cannes 2018. Here’s the exhibitors’ program.
- (Ocean’s 8): I have seen approximately a dozen announcements (in the U.S.) either of private screenings with various organizations, or free tickets to the premiere, in alerts that go back to local newspapers or local studio chains. It would be a chore to link to them all, but if you’re looking to go early for free, it’s definitely time to use your Google skills.
- (Berlin Station): ParamountTV includes Armitage among those listed for consideration for an Emmy (note: this is not a nomination).
- (Berlin Station): Season 1 concerned in part events that occurred at a CIA black site. Gina Haspel’s confirmation hearings to head the CIA have led to the declassification of more information about what she did at the one she ran.
- (My Zoe): Is currently filming and scheduled to wrap up the first week of June.
- (Ocean’s 8): Someone caught this rear view that I missed:

Collateral attractions:
- Cate Blanchett (The Hobbit / Ocean’s 8) headlines a protest at Cannes.
Things Armitage has said:
- His goto dish in a pinch is some kind of tuna-mayo-pasta concoction. Saw this today and thought I’d suggest it as an alternative.
Industry issues:
Things we’ve talked about:
- Here’s a different “other Richard Armitage,” although I think I might have heard this story before. At the moment I’m wondering if Fry mentioned it to Armitage; I have this vague memory (that I can’t verify, so I’m putting it in “questionable”) that they ate together on Armitage’s birthday in 2011 or 2012.
- On empathy: exploiting the empathetic effects of dancing in “This is America.”
🙂 Thanks!
2 grandes dames! Agnès Varda est attachée à l’île de Noirmoutier comme lieu de villégiature, “me too” ( jeu de mots)…

i thought that too — Blanchett looks like she’s twice Varda’s height!
As the world itself becomes more monstrous, horror films becomes more “real.” I agree with you. This was something I thought while watching the first part of “Get Out.”

That tuna pasta looks good! I’ve bookmarked it for later! I haven’t seen that sliced canned tuna around in my store in a while, though, but I’ve been planning to go further afield to see if there are more choices. It’s funny. I really noticed a difference in what is available when I moved from Toronto to Vancouver. Smaller market I guess.

Interesting. We can get Genova from our local national supermarket chain (where dad prefers we shop), so I buy that if I am planning to serve it with minimal cooking or cold. We still eat a lot of the traditional tuna noodle casserole though and for that the US canned chunk tuna is just fine.
