  1. Nice comparison shots. His stance is similar, but his body has changed — the posterior in particular is not quite so robust nowadays. Age and running? (I noticed that when my husband took up running years ago, his thigh and butt muscles became longer and leaner.)

    • That was my impression too — we used to joke about his child-bearing hips but they are noticeably less broad now. I think he’s generally thinner than he was before the Hobbit and Proctor.

      • I wonder if he’s always hated the big butt? Maybe he deliberately wants to look slimmer? I rather liked the heavier look (on him) myself.

        • There have been signs in both directions (he feels very concerned with his weight / he’s not too concerned about his weight) over the years. Comments of concern over his weight have been more frequent the last few years (paradoxically, as he really is thinner now. (He was so thin in LLL). I don’t know if he’s ever said anything about his posterior. There were all those jokes about “peaches” years ago but you hardly ever hear anyone use that term any longer.

        • Thinking about it, he was probably in the tail end of a “losing” mode in the 2010 picture. He’d done SB in the winter/spring of that year, then came back and did Spooks 9, where he sometimes looked uncomfortable in his clothes (he had bulked up a lot for Porter). But by the time he filmed this the Hobbit had been greenlit, so maybe he was already training for that by this point.

  2. Capt America was filmed in Manchester???? 😳Ha, they totally fooled me. #Brooklyn.
That watermark is nicely circling the Armibum…

    • Brooklyn doesn’t look much like that any more, I suppose (it’s been twenty years since I was there, and I know it’s gentrified a lot). I think they got film incentives in the UK where the “historic fabric” looks more historic, lol.
