  1. This rings differently from his past reactions, if my memory serves me. Before, he seemed to ignore these collectibles or engage in self abashment. Oh well, no Twitter then, (times change) and I guess no pressure or willingness to market ( people change). This one is a little different, since the face portrays an anime figure, and not Richard Armitage. At least the Thorins looked like him.

    • Yeah — there was a lot of joking about the RH merch, which he seemed to find embarrassing. Maybe he doesn’t feel like he’s physically contiguous with Trevor, although they sure do look alike. I imagine he probably makes as much off royalties for this stuff now as he does acting. And I’m not opposed to him promoting his own interests, either, far from it. Just that it is a really change.
