This is a very interesting read, even apart from the news that apparently the new Tolkien series on Amazon will have nude scenes.
Hopefully all that slash fanfic writing will finally pay off.

You kind of wonder what will be left for the fan fic writers. Not that all of fanfic is sex, but. Maybe they surveyed the spectrum of the LOTR fandom and saw how much of it involves discussions about themes like this. But yeah, the Tolkiens would certainly be rotating in their graves.
