Eighth candle, eleven years in

Nothing sadder than a picture of a menorah’s candles going out one by one, but here’s a picture to indicate: Chanukkah’s receding into the distance.

Well, I at least succeed in blogging for eight days in a row. We’ll see what happens next.

In 2010, I was ready to be done. In 2011, I was heavily focused on the problem of syncretism. In 2012, I got into Chanukkah and Jewish mysticism. And in 2013, I was contemplating brokenness and anticipating part of the planned Hobbit press blitz.

  2. Well done on making it eight days. And nice shot to have the candles reflected in the window like that. 🙂

  4. I love the way the lights multiplicate and appear to float in the reflection, as if light grows or extends. Wishing you that it’s a good sign.
