Goodbye, Anne Rice

Old news, a bit, but Anne Rice has shuffled off this mortal coil. She had an interesting artistic development from erotica to vampire thrillers to religious novels. I read the erotica at some point in the 2000s. But what I will remember her most for: her interest in Armitage as Lestat, or Louis, or even Jesus, and her love of Berlin Station.

  1. I loved Interview with the Vampire but found her erotica very tedious. I also loved the idea of RA as Matthew Claremont… but in the end Matthew Goode did a pretty good job.

    • I liked the first book but the other two were quite repetitive. But that was 20 years ago; my libido is in a completely different place now, so who knows what I’d think?

I remember Deborah Harkness followed him and he followed her back (or the other way around?) in the context of her tweeting about The Crucible. I’m sure he was interested.
