Richard Armitage tangentially related
Current projects:
- (The Lodge) More info about the Overlook Film Festival.
- (Castlevania): Powerhouse Animations will have a panel at the RTX Animation Festival.
- (The Stranger): Harlan Coben replies to Armitage’s previous reply.
- Not sure if this is a recent sighting.
Past projects:
- (The Hobbit) Lots of buzz about top grossing films this week, after the premiere of Endgame, but all of the Hobbit films are still in the top fifty.
- (Romeo & Juliet): David Hewson discusses how Richard Armitage affected his writing.
- (Macbeth audiobook): Co-author A.J. Hartley discusses his experiences during the UNCC campus shooting earlier this week.
- (Berlin Station): Kee Chang (who provided this interview) is publishing a collection of insights from a decade of media interviews this year, and Armitage is listed in the index.
Things we’ve talked about:
- In defense of Mary Sue characters.
- The Endgame box office seems likely to confirm a trend we’ve mourned before: movies will become solely the venue for “event cinema.“
- Sexy writing in Regency romances.
- I’ve totally missed this now old news, but it seems that the final volume in the Wolf Hall trilogy will appear in 2019!
- Gwyneth Paltrow is fundraising for Pete Buttigieg. Ew.
- An article that touches on what I just can’t seem to quit Gone with the Wind completely: Scarlett as self-reliant.
- More on the advantages of audiobooks — I learned a few things I didn’t know about who uses them.
Ew on Gwyneth Paltrow of Peter Buttigieg? Or both? Just wondering. 🙂

Gwyneth Paltrow (Guylty and I had a long discussion about her recently). I don’t care either way about Buttigieg; I don’t think he’s electable (and only marginally quaified).

regarding audiobooks, i’m a recent convert and it hadn’t really occured to me how useful they are. I like reading but quite often after a day at work i’m exhausted and i just don’t have the energy/brain power to read. Also i have quite a long commute at present-most days is 45-50 mins each way 4 days a week-. For years I’ve listened to the radio but you get fed up-so i picked up the Georgette Heyers and they made my journeys fly by. Plus at least i’m getting to experience these stories-even if I can’t read them physically.

The commute is the only situation that really works for me — but it has to be a long commute (I’m hopefully done with that now till the fall). Totally with you on not always being able to listen to the radio (esp news).
