  1. The shoes I don’t mind so much. It’s the rolled pant cuffs. He’s not a Bay City Roller fer crissakes! lol

    • yes, he is definitely still beautiful!

This is really different from most things we’ve seen on his feet. If he needed a little break from the ordinary, good for him, but it is a bit headshaking.

  3. Red socks as well. Does have some resemblance to the Bay City Rollers doesn’t he? Guess he likes it all.

Aber dann: bitte, bitte roll die Hosen wieder runter. Auch wenn man dann die “tollen” (=heißt ja auch “verrückt”!) Socken nicht sieht.
Jedenfalls schreit der Look förmlich: Shoot me!!!! Ich lieeeeebe seine Schuhe ebenfalls fast ohne Ausnahme, bisher jedenfalls 🙂 , aber das ist schon recht offensichtlich inszeniert.

Look at me, I am wearing crazy pinky/orangey socks with blue shoes and rolled up jeans. So we are supposed to notice his feet and overlook his face? If you only saw his feet, wouldn’t you look up to see who would make such a weird fashion statement? I would. And where or where can the ever present leather jacket be? Or did he branch out into suede?

It’s always easy to state after the fact, but I suspected he wouldn’t stay for the wrap-party. The FD shoot was late, and he wouldn’t want others to wait for him. I suspected he would use the weekend to get to Ireland quickly.

I did read somewhere that he was flamboyant when he was younger, and I always thought: “Whaaat?”

Now, we get to see the flamboyant side – good for him. Those socks, are they pink by any chance? And the shoes…looove the shoes. And the sweater, and the jacket 🙂 Some fashion statement you’ve got going there, Mr Armitage. If you want to be anonymous and inconspicuous, you’re definitely not doing a good job.

But just look at him! I love the outfit; the trousers ought to be rolled down, though.

He does have a flamboyant side to him. I can see that now.

Just love the outfit. The pink socks, the blue shoes, the sweater, and the jacket. Just lovely on this handsome stranger. But the trousers ought to be rolled down. He’s having “Problemenhüfte” (trouble hips) again.

  26. I think , he dressed in a way to thank his fans , who offered him socks as birthday’s present .
He wanted to show them , he likes wearing eccentric marvellous pair of socks , despite what he said earlier about gifts .

What can he afford to wear , when his spirit is joking, whimsical and when he still want to remain “class” anomymous and inconspicuous as you wrote . I agree those blue shoes catche our eyes to his feet .

Consequently we shall be able to discover beautiful socks
    – in all colors of the rainbow : green , yellow, pink, purple , turquoise , red …
    – in unespected , original patterns : stripes , circles , waves , squares, triangles…
    – and with crasy , large representation of motifs : flowers , leaves , animals , hearts, smiley , music notes scope instruments , even red devils ….
    Let your imagination go .
He would have to match his outfit with his socks and not the opposite .
Let us see his next selfies !

In short: as long as we’re not making ad hominem attacks, everyone here is free to express their opinion, positive negative humorous etc. on Mr. Armitage’s outfits.

Yes he’s a grown man. But I think respecting a person’s individuality is ageless. Who knows how he feels about it, so why not just be respectful. It’s only those kinds of comments I was referring to, really :).

        • Lily — if you want to call out people for what they are saying on Twitter, please do that here and say it to their faces. Complaining here about what people who are probably not here are doing on Twitter is pointless. Moreover, the comments policy here asks that commentators not disparage the behavior of fellow fans who are not here.

As far as respectful goes, I can think of things that are worthy of my respect (traffic laws, my father), but I don’t believe that Richard Armitage’s clothing choices fall into that category. People are going to apply that label differently, which is why the comments policy specifically does not say “we must be respectful of Richard Armitage.”

          • I was actually saying we should be respectful of everyone, regardless of if they are Richard Armitage or not. I wasnt aware of the policy, sorry about that. • And I’m saying “I don’t know that we need to be respectful of everyone” and also “your definition of respectful is not the same as everyone else’s.” Some people can joke and still be within their definitions of respectful. Last September, some people thought fake beard pictures on Twitter were disrespectful.

    • Lily, I happen to agree with the spirit of what you’re saying about his clothes, and as I noted above, for a whole host of reasons I generally do not comment on RA’s clothing positively or negatively (though ok, the blue shoes sent me over the edge this one time! 😉 ). What that means for me in practice is that when I see a post analyzing his clothes on this or other blogs, I just skip it and let others carry on doing what they like to do. There are whole categories of RA content out there that I choose to ignore. I agree with Servetus that everyone’s definition of “respect” is a little different.
