  2. One of your funniest one-liners….made me lol😅😂.
I share the sentiment too; I would love to see him play a romantic character again. Struggling to finish watching Berlin Station series 1 at moment. I don’t find Daniel Miller particularly appealing as a character (even with no pants on)😉.

    • Daniel Miller is mostly style with very little substance. It’s weird because they gave him a great backstory and then more or less ignored it.

      • That´s exactly what I think. What we knew about Daniels backstory would have left so much space to develop this character and to expose his past bit by bit. But the writers made absolutely nothing out of it. I still can´t understand that decision.

        • Even in season 2, given that they’d made his mother a West German who had sympathies in the East / was willing to spy for the East, they could have somehow connected that to the National Socialist past, i.e., his German grandparents could have had an NS past and that could have been worked into the neo-Nazi story line. It offered so many possibilities. It made me think that the writers just didn’t know much about Germany or German history (there was plenty of other evidence of that as well).

          • Yeah, that sounds plausible but they could have done some research if they´d really wanted. Actually I think that they lost any interest in that character and concentrated on others instead.

            • I agree. They decided Hector and Stephen were the characters they cared about and then they injected Ashley Judd into that.

              • Hector, exactly. The one that really got on my nerves. But I see he was at least interesting because he polarised. Don´t even know what could have been that interesting about Stephen Frost.

                • The only things I can think of to say are either sexist or political statements, so I’ll just agree with and underline that. I don’t know what was interesting about him. He’s said to be a very good actor, and I was willing to believe that, except that when I saw him in The Shape of Water he was exactly the same as he was in Berlin Station. So, I’m just left puzzled.

                  • I can´t evaluate if Richard Jenkins is a good actor. I only saw him in BS and Shape of Water. At least the character in Shape of Water was more likeable to me than Stephen. But yes, his acting performance was not that different in these two works.

              • Must be somewhat galling to realise your lead character role is no longer the focus of the series…Wonder whether Daniel will be back for season 3?

                • Forbes deleted her Twitter recently. To me that suggests that she’s not in it, anyway.

                  • Did she start with it related to BS? I did not follow her there and had a look from time to time only because of RA but on that occassions I had the impression that she likes to tweet. Anyway, if it´s true that she isn´t in it I wonder who will be back (supposing that he´ll not return as well maybe).

                    • I think it preceded BSt but that was when she got most of her followers. Yeah, she liked the attention. But she’s also a card-carrying member of the loony left, so I’m guessing that in the current atmosphere she’d only keep it if she had some really decisive professional reason for doing so.

My bet is on Ifans, Orser and Jenkins anyway. Possibly Judd.

  3. As for me, none of them would be a reason to watch it.

    • Not if I have to pay extra to do so. Judd was not good in the role and the rest of them became increasingly uninteresting as the show dragged on.
