Richard Armitage Legenda 76: Stuff worth reading
Legenda offers a brief, non-inclusive index of stuff about Richard Armitage that I noticed and enjoyed since the last episode. It doesn’t usually include materials presented on the major fansites, which I love dearly, but which are linked in the sidebar. Because I always forget or just miss stuff, please add additional pieces of interest via link in the comments.]
Thanks again for the cheerleading
You guys are simply the best. Thanks for all your support this week. I’ll get back to answering comments tomorrow — I know there are a lot of them. And then I have to plan how to proceed … figure out how to be writing what I want to be writing … I am really looking forward to the summer for that reason. I’m going to figure out if I am a writer. I wanted to get this out there first as it’s already late, and as I assume that we’re going to be overwhelmed with new stuff from Australia very shortly.
How do you react to that?

- Some people edit.
- In fact, even more people edit.
- Some people experience great cognitive leaps!
- Some people stare and think of Cole Porter.
- Some people finally fall in love with the beard!
- Like me, lots of people can’t stop staring. Love that “Mr. Armitage” is “Pan Armitage” in Polish (and, of course, one might add, Señor Armitage in French, Herr Armitage in German, Monsieur Armitage in French …). Love to see that written out in each language.
Armitageworld changes
- My close kindred spirit blogger, Obscura of Ancient Armitage, passed 2,000 page views this week! Congratulations!
- If you didn’t leave congratulations on the reblogs, messages on the April 26th trifecta of Guylty’s tumblr birthday, Fabi’s debut at La Loba, and the birth of Armitagemania at Do I Have a Blog? await your messages!
- Getting over Richard Armitage?
Richard Armitage archive
- What color do you wish would be Richard Armitage’s? Ana Cris comes to some fascinating conclusions about Armitage and black.
- For those who love Armitage + poetry or the eighteenth century, connections between Richard Armitage and “The Highwayman,” complete with illustration / picspam and fanvid.
- Why are you so interested in Armitage’s romantic life? Different ways to put the question. And a followup: Should we know about his private life?
- On Mr. Thornton as friend.
- Bechep documented getting ready to see Mr. Armitage in Sydney. An interesting journey and a neat commentary on the significance of anticipation (that reminded me of waiting for birthdays or Christmas as a child). Seven Sleeps, Six Sleeps, Five Sleeps, Four Sleeps, Three Sleeps, Two Sleeps, One Sleep, Zero Sleeps.
- On late night preoccupations with Richard Armitage. Poetic.
- Richard Armitage it away.
- Check your compatibility with Richard Armitage and compare your results with our friends.
- Looking for Richard Armitage at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
- Some more Jackman vs Armitage comparisons: Marie on casual style; Xenia on kissing; Marie on the Evangeline Lilly connection.
- A Lucas North birthday gift?
- Mulubinba decides to go to Sydney and puts the town on warning to behave well.
- Is it OK to use the BBC Robin Hood to further English language acquisition?
- Admiration for Armitage as dancer at The Armitage Effect and Obsessive Behavior.
- Xenia asks whether Armitage will top his performance as Thorin in future roles.
- The creation of another Polish fan of North & South (English at end of post).
- I don’t know exactly how to describe this, but it’s funny!
- A new feature: Munchable Monday!
Servetus loved red plaid well before dwarves started wearing it. Just sayin’
- Graham McTavish, who’s fast becoming a collateral attraction of mine, complies with a request for a red plaid shirt pic.
- Jas and Snicker’s Mom do a research project to figure out how many of the dwarves have worn red plaid.
- And now there’s a project to get them together for a pic?
Richard III Richarding
A new photoshop of Richard Armitage as Richard III by “an old Richard III admirer.”
- Why was there a Roman nail buried with Richard III? A provocative discussion. Plus the latest press and rumors.
Richard Armitage-related fanfic
- At wattpad: “North & South: A Spooks Fanfic.”
- At wattpad: “A Willing Heart” (TH / Thorin + OC / romance), part 1.
Richard Armitage-related RPF and sexy fanfic
- “Love is a Wound” at wattpad (RH / Guy + OC / some chapters explicit) went to ch. 10.
- “Broken” (Spooks / Lucas + OC / some chapters explicit) went to ch. 30.
- At DF: “Recovery” (SB / Porter + OC / many chapters explicit) went to ch. 6 and 7.

- Headaches from Armitage?
- Richard Armitage laughing adorably. Animated GIFset.
- An especially good series 3 Guy of Gisborne GIFset. Very smooth.
- Love this: Some kind of mashup of Porter, Richard Armitage, Graham McTavish, in drawings.
- Amazing Kili and Thorin by the same artist.
OT, collateral attractions, and things I think about
- Contexts in which Annabel Capper never imagined herself as a consequence of her connection to Richard Armitage — involuntarily advertising nail polish?
- Allan Arbus (Sidney Freedman on M*A*S*H*) dies at 95.
- Should wealthy celebs use Kickstarter to fund their future projects?
- All the dwarves (except Armitage?) to appear at Armageddon Wellington for signings, etc. I read somewhere, $300.
- In case you’ve been following the theme of adventure tourism since the mid-1990s, the accident due to too many people climbing and Jon Krakauer’s fantastic book, “Into Thin Air,” this might interest you: Altercations on Mount Everest continue.
My reaction to RA? Awwww. I think I need to zoom in for a virtual kiss–with clear lip gloss, mind you. Ha! And thanks for the shout out for my Whimsy post.

Awww! I really love the MX picture as well. Picking up a copy of MX after a frustrating day at work and seeing Richard looking out from the front cover – ‘thud’. It even kept me smiling with the Melbourne train delays. Some silly people on the train read their MX from cover to cover rather than gazing soulfully at the Gorgeous Guy (‘Thud’-worthy Thorin ?) on the front cover.
