Oceans 8 confusion … ?
So, it’s not the kind of thing that I’m super up on, but I thought the assumption was that Damien Lewis was playing the villain, whereas today I read he’s playing the mark. Not that I care either way but I would like to know who Claude Becker is.

Is he the Andy Garcia character, or the Julia Roberts character? I hope he’ll be the Julia Roberts character, and be married to Mindy Kaling ( who will hopefully be playing the Ocean character. Unlikely but one can hope.

Well not much more! You can tell how I absorbed of it by still referring to the actors’ name instead of the characters. I remember that Brad Pitt played Rusty and that’s about it!

Damian Lewis is not in the movie. He is no longer listed as a cast member on IMDb. These sorts of film sites often have outdated info. At some point Lewis dropped out or never signed on to begin with and Richard was cast instead. It is not a remake of Oceans 11, but is part of the franchise. Some of the Oceans 11 cast are doing cameos.

I thought that imdB cast lists were crowdsourced, i.e., often inaccurate.

We’ve read different facts in different articles – but as a rule, the “mark” in an Oceans film is the villain.
