Berlin Station 2 alternative plotline — where is Brad Winters?
The U.S. ambassador to Germany presented his credentials to German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier at Schloß Bellevue earlier today. Here are some pictures. Scarcely had he tweeted the pictures from the party, Ambassador Grenell began threatening one of our vital allies.
As @realDonaldTrump said, US sanctions will target critical sectors of Iran’s economy. German companies doing business in Iran should wind down operations immediately.

Somehow I don’t think we’re going to be building any listening station in Berlin this week.

I’m amazed that anyone in the US government thinks they will get Germany to do anything Germany doesn’t want to do.

Not only Germany but most of Union European countries. This morning, I wondered what Theresa May would say and do? Sighs now!

Before the electoral law changed, a string of defeats as serious as the ones she’s had would have led to a dissolution of the government. I suppose at this point everyone’s worried that whatever came after would be worse.

Now, I am not sure whether I should be more eager waiting for the new BS series or for the future real political news?

I didn’t read that as a threat. It sounded more to me as a helpful warning, because the deed is done and the ball is now rolling. Those involved know that Germany (or any other state affected for that matter) will make its own choices. At this point all we can do is wait and see what those choices will be. May God be with us all. 💙

Well, I guess you were the only one who didn’t, because Germany pretty much did. If you don’t read German, there’s a summary of German reaction to this threat in the Washington Post today. Germany isn’t going to be cowed by the U.S., I suspect, except if greater pressure is brought to bear. It’s already on the brink of switching over to an alliance with Russia.
I think it’s fair to request the support of G-d when something happens that we can’t control. But it’s not fair to fuck up a situation, and then say, oh, well, may G-d help us.
