  3. Thank you! That is an abfab cast (sorry, someone had to do it). Makes me laugh though that whoever is playing his wife isn’t identified as such.

    • Judging by her age and being the only female whose role hasn’t been made explicit, I imagine Corinne must be played by Dervla Kirwan.

      • I agree @lillianschild, she’s only a couple of months younger than Richard. I’d become used to thinking of Corinne as an Emilia Fox – type so Dervla is a little out of left field for me. The only thing I have seen her in was Ballykissangel years ago, which I loved. Only a couple of degrees of separation too with RA – she is married to Rupert Penry-Jones who played Adam Carter in Spooks S7 with Richard’s Lucas North.

        • Netflix has just confirmed Dervla is playing Corinne. As regards degrees of separation, several people have either no degree or just a couple when it comes to Richard; Dervla has recently worked in Strike Back, Anthony Head appeared with Rupert in “Persuasion”, Siobhan Finneran played Carol’s Mum in Sparkhouse, Jennifer Saunders is friends and has worked with Dawn French, etc. And the people involved in the writing and production were also part of Sparkhouse.

          • Thanks for that confirmation, it’s morning here and I haven’t had a chance to catch up. Dervla and Jennifer Saunders are the only other cast names I’m familiar with, although the faces of a couple more look familiar.

            • I remember Anthony Head from “Persuasion” with Rupert Penry-Jones, Stephen Rea- who’s Neil Jordan’s fetiche actor- and Siobhan Finneran, who played Carol’s mum in Sparkhouse and also appeared in Downton Abbey.,

  8. Interesting. I haven’t read the book so can’t tell how well the casting works with the characters. But I’m delighted with the Irish presence. Totally love Stephen Rea. And if Kirwan is playing the wife, I am rather pleased, too, because they are pairing him with a woman of the same age as himself. Nice.
